I was playing a game, minding my own bussiness (tiny galaxy, max opponents) when the game suddenly dropped a lot of the graphics (stellar backgrounds, trade route "lines", the lines that break up sectors and parsecs, but not planets ships and starbases). I saved the game to a save slot, then quit and reloaded. Save slot caused the game to crash, even after I rebooted (figuring it was a leftover from the earlier wierdness). It turns out that the savegame itself was corrupt, so I went ahead and went with the latest autosave (wasn't to far back, thankfully). Unfortunatly, when the time came to go to bed last night I just saved over the corrupt savegame, only to come back and discover that that corruption somehow persisted OVER the overwrite. So a much later save was corrupted also. I have a copy of the save, if anybody wants to poke at it. I just don't know how to find the save on my harddrive to mail it... or upload it to a website or anything like that. I'll just leave it there untill I hear from somebody about what I hsould do with it
