Miner Race A.I

Why are the miner races spamming infuence bases all over the place.They have no borders so it seems a strange strategy,lol.

I would like the miners to be taken a little more seriously in the game.They should be just building defences and be a hard nut to crack,not wasting resources for no reason,ala Influence bases.

I would also like them to voluntary give you their planets when the relations bar reaches the top.It gives you a reason to build good relations with them.

They are diplomatically attempting to flip worlds in their favor, that's their goal. Not the borders or influence points, but cultural war. If they feel threatened by you, they will do this often.

Minor Races tend to build Influancer Bases to keep from being obsorbed into your culture. I find the best aproch with them is to help them out, and trade with them, you can pritty much realy on them not attacking you, and they can be a good sorse of techs, and mony.

A minor race hasn't got the power to put a cultural attack on a major, it is pointless strategy.They should be defending their only planets with bases and ships.

I didn't think you could flip miner races.And they are not defending their homeworld,they are spamming bases all over the place.

I have seen some odd tacts used by minor ai. Like filling up the only starport with non-com craft. I just figured they were screwy. and i have seen then try to use influncers offensivly against a major ai. It dident seem to do anything at alll, but i was playing at beginer.

The game I just played had one of the two minor races become probably the 3rd biggest economy in the galaxy. Very agrssive with trade, and built nice fleets of ships to defend himself with that were at least as good as anything anyone else could have thrown at them. Maybe that was because I was using him as a tech fund - unlike the majors I wasn't concerned about him using weapons tech to attack me, so I sold him things I wouldn't sel to the others.

The other one was pretty lousy, but I think that was mostly because he started right on my doorstep and I abused the heck out of him.

It's a safe bet he turned around and sold all those techs to the majors anyway. That's probably the real reason he got so big.
