I bought GalCiv 2 Ultimate on Steam last night and every so often the game will drop me to the desktop but its still running. I can click on the icon on the bottom and get back to where i was (so its not crashing). It happens only when i am moving the mouse cursor or clicking on something, but not every time. I can go 10 minutes without it happening or 10 seconds. Its the Steam version and its on a Windows 8 laptop. All the settings are at max.

This isnt the first time I've played. I own the game already on Impulse but ever since GameStop took it over its nothing but pop ups that i can never get rid of, but I've never tried that version on anything later then Vista. Any help would be appreciated.
