Two Button Mouse?

If this question was covered before I was not able to find it, so my bad if this is a repeat.

Anyway, I'm dusting off my copy of GalCiv2 and getting back to it after a couple years.   I thought I used to be able to play it with my track ball (effectivly a two button mouse) but I can not figure out how to rotate the map view.

Am I misremembering that one can do this, or do I have to find a differnt pointer device to play?

Rotating the view is done with the middle mouse button.

If you have DA or higher and no middle mouse button (or means to simulate one), you should also be able to do it with ctrl+arrow keys.
