so if i have orbital ddef manager, i could defend with many ships? Yeah an orbital fleet manager would do it - also if your going to be defending a planet without ever bothering to launching ships and interecepting the incoming fleets you might also want to build the planetery defense building as wel
What I would do is make it as a BC per turn thing - sort of like trade freighters... there entry cost would be rather high and then they'd take credits from your credit pool on a per turn bases -- you'd do it like when you finace a buy ship you'd get 4 options one with an extremely high entry fee but a very low per turn cost (something that would be LESS then your maitnece fess for a smiliar ship) and then you can figure out how the other end of the sp
No it doesnt -- Lies Deception Deceit! AHH!
Once you step it up above normal you'll find a couple of the AI races will actually go for an influence victory at which point if you're not building influence starbases yourself you'll wind up having your own planets revolt! This starts to show up one dificulty setting above normal (which is what I play on) although i've only seen it happen once or twice but the ai will sometimes decide to do it... Also whenever i've built influence starbases and ended up at with with another race th

Simply load up dread lords on parade (or any game where all nine civs are are enabled) then back out (dont launch it) to the main menu from there start up a singleplayer normal game and setup your custom civ - and play all 10 main races will be enabled and you'll be in with your customised race.
Just checking but is there a way to upgrade CURRENT designs? now that I can play quite a few turns (yay!) without a crash or anything horrible happening Ive yet to find a way to upgrade a ship. Secondly: Could we -please- get the ability to modify core ships?
Im pretty sure this is a bug but I wasnt sure... so I load up a game and oh about 40 turns into it I get my first message about the Terran Alliance being big mean and evil and killing everyone... Well I checked the political influence and they were safely on the other side of the map so I wasnt really worried (At all). I had just started to pump out my first set of large ships when im greeted by the terran alliance (around turn 80 or so) an
I'm still crashing rather frequently on my end. and I read in a post (under "loading time") that I shouldn't be crashing at all at this point. Usually i stumble onto some CTD after 15 or so minutes (be it save file corruption, crashes in the "report" area, or even when tradeing) anywho I was just currious if I was the only one out there still getting frequent crashes if so is there anything I can be doing other then sending off the smart exceptions?</f
Okay the following things have proven to slightly annoy me and are interface issues for the most part. 1. No option to invert the mouse. (so that when youre holding the middle mouse button down goes down instead of down rotating the view up) 2. The galaxy setup - At current when a player goes to sleect a secnario you have to click into each scenario to get a description of it - Instead could we get a button somewhere that says "Ch
In the previous versions I had a real gripe with the way the tech tree was laid out. I feel the need to now say it's a huge improvement. Thank you for that! thats all I had to say
All day today GC 2 had fairly crash happy so I uninstalled completely (nuked the folders) and reinstalled (Twice) With both installs ive been getting an imeadiete crash at startup. I've generated a smart exception file but before I sent it off I wanted to check to see if anyone else was getting a crash on startup that said. "Microsoft visual C++ Runtime library Runtime error! (program install location for GC followers) this appcication
I did not start this thread to turn into this. I was not saying the game was complete or feature finished and never ment for it to spiral into this. I wanted to know what people found amusing in the game and what people didnt like (thus the question "are we having fun with gc 2 yet") Secondly: There are UI issues that I wanted to see fixed it sounds like 2 of them are coming and the filter system should be in, honestly, whats the point of seeing techs that I have already researched an
At the moment I'm rather bored with galciv 2. Admitedly GC 1 held my attention for almost 9 to 10 months of good weekly play. but GC 2 on the other hand just feels like GC 1 with a brand new coat of paint and a couple of new features. I'll admit the diplomacy area isnt really working yet but I do have a quick suggestion (unless im blind and completely missed it) could we get a way to tell what OTHER races think of each other? In CIV 4 this w
im glad to hear everything will be put out in XML... One of the only saving graces of MOO3 was the fan community had the option to open up the spreadsheets and "Fix" what quicksilver left broken. (Hey moo 3 is now a 7/10 game when running the right fan mods) however one thing can we get a feature in the diplomacy area to allow us to set "Starting" relationships between empires? -- the ability to make the humans and torians getting along well but for
Mark my words when the final game comes out ill build a fleet of 200+ ships and have them fight a battle... thats right 200 unarmed barely moving ships.
...I can program my ti-82... yep.. that was the entire comment
Well all the rotation and such is done on the middle mouse button and well its horribly annoying. Can you put an option in for "Use right click for rotation" or some such? it would certinly be more in line with other current games (homeworld) as far as rotaion goes.
Im not sur eif you noticed but theres a slider that allows you to DECREASE the size of those mduels or increase them (its right below the ship picture) just an fyi
+ When making a custom race, removing a Selected Tech's Prerequisite will also remove that Technology. Damn I liked that bug I'll have you know!

okay so in GalCiv all the alien races origionaly got from at to b using a stargate network right? but then along come humans with hyperdrive and now you can get to places really fast that DONT have a stargate... Right? so wouldnt it make sense to have the ability to still build stargates as a way to link colonys together? Per say I sometimes (in gc 1) find myself with a bunch of coloines on two diffrent sides of the map (usually depending on who surrenders to me). as
I think GalCiv 2 needs Death Metal and lots of screamer bands like static x to give it a good "Feel". oh wait no it doesnt. Actually I really dont like aliens talking its always kind of driven me nuts, Maybe if it was on by default and we had the option to turn it off. It really drove me nuts in MOO 3 (okay moo3 drove me nuts but thats not the point). I kind of liked the text only setup for the simple reason of it allowed me to decide how they sounded. <
