AI's will tend to give you almost anything for a few ships when there in the middle of a catastrophic war - and while that makes sense they'll also trade you ALL of there planets and technology if you give them enough ships. I honestly think there needs to be a cap on the number of planets that they'll trade (say roughly 10% of there empire for perhaps a 300% increase in there current military strength)... Anyway just a thought - this just needs some rebalancing
Glavius
That's not a bug it's a feature!
I dont know about the AI being too easy but it IS far to easy to achevie a dipomatic victory at this point... just grab the spin control center, put your best attack ships in orbit of the plan with the center, and all the AI's fall in love with you...
Personally I belive MOO 2 is proably the epitome of space based strategy games... There are several things in it I would love to see completly ripped off by another game. ALL they had to do with MOO3 was release an updated MOO2 and it would of sold like hot cakes. Unfortantly MOO3 was really bad (until the mod community fixed it). And thus GalCiv did well. I like GalCiv2 (You can read my review over on gameplasma.com) but I also like MOO2. U
I REALLY write this one off as a reviewer who either didn't like strategy games or he really didnt play it for more then 10 minutes, switched sides, played another 10 minutes and quit... That'd be my guess anyway. With reviews having to only be a few hundred words it's really easy to do that in 10 minutes of play. This is why most sights require a great length in words otherwise its tempting to play a game you dont care for for 30 minutes an
lol wrong form
No what you need is to have a screen that pops up and says "Your drivers are out of date this game has not been tested with these drivers. Please note the game may crash frequently." and you have that pop up whenver they play the game then after the 3rd or 4th ignore you give them the option to permantly ignore the warning. But you set it up so when it crashes on these systems you have a screen pop up that says "See we told you it would cras
Yeah I agree about the late game strategy fo the above post but IMO take the very first class 15 you come across and make THAT your primary research planet (build 2 factories and everythign else labs) planet and pump out an interceptor style ship (two engines and as many guns as possible) I tend to start with laser techs since you can just fit so many on the hull.. First tech I get is impulse drives then I go for Soil Enhancment (+10 to social/miltary
Problem? no no thats not a probelm thats what we like to call a "Feature"
My 2 bc. Glavius has demanded money from "Urusiol" rumors say they have refused.
yeah they did it because of how huge the the ship modding has become
bump.
Arg poor stupid me didn't actually notice that there was a thread for this... anyway I've noticed that frogboy has no idea how people are ending up with two accounts... I've got a theory Just incase your were wondering how one person was ending up with two accounts - the beta testers who pre-ordered a physical boxed copy recevied 2 cd-keys - the first one was sent out over stardock during the "pre-loading" time the second one we recevied
Can a mod please tell me which cd-key I used to create this account? I've got 3, maybe 4, could even be 5 cdkeys for GC2 and have no idea which one matches up with what account anymore... So now when I goto submit metaverse games under this account name I end up with the error message "The cd-key you provided does not match up with the one used to create this metaverse account" I assume this is because the key I used to create this account with was one
I've got enough trouble playing on anything other than large It's what I played both GC 1 and GC2 on (large maps that is) since it all fits nicely in the map... but thats just me
Meow?
Ah I never had a problem with the torians ... oh no I had trouble with the insect people.... they were always neck and neck with my research I've had some great wars with them though...
every so often you get the "located a precourusor device" random events - now THOSE are nice! -- once had all those useless sytems within 2 parsecs of my homeworld become class 12's! that game got heated fast!
he wants to mod it... Using the default install goto the folder C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Data\English and find techtree.xml then locate the following - [Logistics ID="Basic Logistics"] [DisplayName]Basic Logistics[/DisplayName] [Cost]100[/Cost] [Description]Improves our overall logistics ability which allows for more ships in fleets.[/Description] [Details]The ability to put more ships in our fleets and support more starb
You should send one to people who have reviewed it...
Duno they tend to attack me...
I've never seen this then again i only usually have 3 factory planets ... but I've never encountered that behaviour - what I'd recomend (until its fixed) is to use the governors tab and to set it to not building... duno
Sure they did they tested it we tested it everyone tested it and it's even in the known issues list #5 You lose your mouse pointer People with nVidia Geforce 6X series cards (for the most part) have reported this. We have yet to get it in our internal lab and it doesn't seem to be that wide spread but it's a real show stopper. The solution is to use the hardware mouse cursor which is in the video options area of the game. <
that fails to explain the 0/9 moves - sounds like a bug
now imagine you pick the +50 research bonus and the technologists for a total of +70 and research the research acadmies right off the bat... then go for star federation... Oh yes it works
