Same issue in Vista X64.
I keep getting a message telling me I need to have Administrator Rights to uninstall Twilight on the Arnor. Is this something with Stardock Central or am I dealing with a wacky issue with my laptop.
If your running vista try this. Right click on your stardock central link and select "Run as Administrator" that could help. If your installing through the cd open the cd and find setup.exe (might be install.exe I've got the digital version so I'm not sure) and try runni
You guys are lacking a whiny little bitch in the thread. [bitch] What? you guys said January 3rd for the release now its January 4th here and it's STILL not out? Where is it? I mean seriously what is this I paid good money for this beta and I expect it when you said it would be out! I want my money back [/bitch] Eh, that's really not that fun I don't understand why people do it. Ah well! thanks for the update guys really applicate dev's that keep you up to date... Also I'm
Bump for dev view.
I'm running vista 64-bit as well and have no issues with the game - Check your drivers. Also install Stardock's Smart Exception that'll generate a much more detailed report (you get get in the free stuff area of Stardock Central, then post that information here.
But the root problem - the "my 0 attack/defense ships give me massive military might" needs to be fixed - It's annoying and causing the AI to repeatedly declare war on me when they have no chance to win.
Yeah frogboy can't code :P No really - the AI is amazing but like all things - the more code you throw at it the harder it is to get the AI to do what you want.
Yeah that's what's really pissing me off - It used to be I'd always be a mid pack player but now it seems that the AI is so smug - I've reproduced this three times - Enemy has one planet left, but it's military rating is twice mine - even though im using superior firepower and ships. It's bogus because I can't offer a peace treaty. Peace really needs to work on a system of "How have our ships faired against them" system and perhaps a modifier for "How have our ships faired against them
Please move this post - not sure how I posted in this forum.
I've been playing through a game of TA and noticed that the enemy AI always has three times the military score that I do - I never build star bases but the enemy AI has spammed them up. It would appear that the Drengin who have twice the military score I do are getting there points through all of the Military starbases they've built. Normally this wouldn't be worthy of reporting but they declared war on me, and having stomped all but one of there planets they've STILL got twice the military scor
Yes and I've been in contact with them for about a month and it's still broken - I didn't mean I was still waiting for a response I just meant it's not working yet! But, I do have like 27 metaverse games just waiting for submission as soon as it works.
The good news is - I'm still waiting.
Bumpity bump The AI does this in Dark Avatar and Dread Lords still! I tend to build what I call "Ally Assist" ships - there littearly weaker versions based on my technology and because there medium hulls when i've moved onto gigantic hulls they build in one to two turns and i'll trade 80 or so to a civilization and take over there empire that way ... Latest example is I traded a bunch to the dread lords for all there planets, technology, money - so it's still broken!
It's amazing what $1,000 buys you in a desktop when compared to a laptop - It's more amazing what $3523.00 gets you. I've got a cooler master liquid cooling solution with 4 raid-0 Raptor drives (the 150gb model).
No I think it does that so you can't modify it - I know the option works.
I did and they still haven't helped me, LOL! only been a week >
I actually had to go with vista for my current computer to be able to fully utilize quad-core. So I'm already running it - and the Ultimate edition of windows very few people will need - home basic isn't expensive (bit more then a game at $70USD and home premium isn't that much worse) www.newegg.com and go!
if it makes you feel any better I get slowdown when playing GalCiv 2 on a gigantic map and I've got one of the best computers that can be purchased today. Intel QuadCore (oc'd to 3.2 ghz a piece) 4gigs of ram 8800gtx So yeah slowdown happens no matter what you've got - I notice its worse if I turn on the CPU option for having the AI utlize fully.
War isn't invertible I go many games and NEVER get attacked. The trick? have the biggest military out there - if your stronger then EVERYONE they won't attack you - furthermore, using a "buffer state" works well get a moderately powerful neighbor to pick on anyone whose messing with you - and supply them ships NOT technology - just ships... also the BEST way to get ahead militarily is to just trade for weapons techs early on (kortah/drengin always get early weapons) but never give away weapons t
Err well I beta'd Supreme Commander and the multi player is fun enough that I'll end up buying it. It's sort of fun theres lots of ways to win that can really make end games interesting - some people tech up for things like nukes or high end artillery that can hit anything on the map - some people prefer a fast rush - still others go for the mobile tech 3 siege bots and the more powerful experimental weapons. It's got enough ways to win/lose that I'll buy it and finally stop playing Star Craft (
class 1 planets can ROCK I've had quite a few show up with 2 or 3(thought i saw 4 once) expansion slots per level of soil enhancement.
Wow things just got really wacky. The game will run in full screen mode at 1280x1024 but not at 1024x768... 1280x1024 is my default desktop resolution. Ever heard of a game refusing to run at one resolution but not at the other?
Yup windowed mode worked. Yeah I was in the beta game worked just fine on both a 9700pro and my old geforce 6600 but the 8800 is quite a bit different. I wasn't really surprised that I would be having some trouble getting games to work (this isn't the first time either Battle Stations Midway only works in windowed mode)... however, I truly hate windowed mode so .... a fix?
Just bought a new top of the line computer and the game will NOT play. All I see at launch is a mouse cursor (in the center of the screen) set to a black background and I hear the theme music for the game. This happens in both Dark Avatar and GalCiv 2. I am playing the newest version but you see I tend to mass build a very basic ship for AI trades - Littearly I influence wars I never get directly involved - I build a TON of small ship hulls and just trade about 50-80 of them away and the ai's more then happy to give away planets.
