For what it's worth, my understanding is that Kalypso has since bought the rights to DL from Paradox (?), and is now offering a package called UE (Ultimate Edition) which has all three. But if you've already got EU, then you probably wouldn't want to bother with it.
I was wondering what the Ultimate Edition is. So that means it is EU plus DL and not DA and TA as seperate expansions witch require DL.

Endless Universe is TA plus DA plus DL Campaign in a standalone version. The expansion packs DA and TA where never in retail and always only available through Digital Download. The GC2 Gold Edition (DL+DA) is the exception. But that was only sold in the US as far as I know. So EU is the first retail version of the expansions that is also available outside the US.

The codes for nukes are the last 4 digits of your serialnumber. And when you launch a nuke from a sub you don't need launch codes. But beware, probably all other nations will declare war on you.

Well Stardock should inform a potential buyer that there is no box. That would be fair. But I think it is better they put their money in games development than in nice and shiny boxes. For Dark Avatar there was a downloadable cover for a cd case. I hope Stardock makes one for Twilight as well. How about it, Stardock?
I sincerely pity anyone that plays an Elder Scrolls game on a console. They're fantastic games, but they're fantastic because their modability saves them. Neither Morrowind nor Oblivion is all that great in its vanilla form, but with community-made mods they're among the best RPG's ever made.
I completly agree. Many of the issues described have been adressed by mods. When I play Oblivion, I usually use a bunch of diffrent mods (from huge ones to small ones). And that make
A year playing the same game equates to incredible staying power.
I agree. I have been playing GC since GCI came out (see my member number). After DL was released I switched to that, then to DA and now to TA. And I will still be playing TA until GCIII is released. :) And if GCII would never had been released, I would still play GCI. So I can't agree that the game lacks staying power.

I have the newest Beta 098c[b].001 of TA and just startet a game with the Drengin. As I skimmed through the techtree, I noticed that the after Particel beam the Drengin get Ion beam 1 and directly after that they can jump to Disrupter. Shouldn't Disrupter come after Ion beam 3? And there are still no weaponmodules for all three Ion beam techs.
freecol
Sweet :HOT: , I didn't know of that one. Colonization was my first game on CD. Sadly there is no freeMOM. Well you can't have everything. By the way, [link="http://www.abandonia.org"]abandonia[/link] also has many older games.

I did that until a few months ago. Now I mostly choose common settings. Try a huge map with abundant on planets and stars, and you will need many transports. ;)

Its probably the random intelligence part. Hearing your description I asume the AI is set on cakewalk or something like that. Choose the difficulty for yourself. That way you know what to expect.

TA requires DA, since it builds on its features. But you can buy the [link="https://www.galciv2.com/Purchase.aspx"]Expansion Bundle[/link], which is cheaper than buying them one by one.

Question1: You choose one party at the beginning. As soon as you change your government from empire to another one, you will have elections. Now, the only factor for elections is your approval rating. You need at least 50% in the turn in whitch the election is. It does not matter how many seats above the 50% your party has or who the other parties are. When you win you get the boni, when you loose you get negativ abilities. Question2: As you say there are 3 weapon types. Every w

In my last game in TA (Beta4), I (Drengin) was allied with the Yor, Korx and Kryn. The Yor declared war on the Korx and Kryn several times, but I never had to choose sides. In fact I persuaded the Yor to back off by giving them some techs.

Better take your time so that everything in the beta is fully functional. Flu is also going around where I live. Get well soon, Brad.

The Dregin Beamtech line is not fully completed. They have Laser 1-5, Ion Beam 1-3, Disrupter 1-3 and then Doom Ray. But right now, Disrupter I comes directly after Ion Beam I. And no actual weapon components are added for the Ion Beams. But still, I think it is a good idea to give the Drengin the Psionic Beam earlier. After all having powerfull weapons is their advantage.

Well in my game everyone was researching the cure. Only the Terrans had a problem, because their economy had a break down. But I traded it to them. I wanted them to remain strong, to be a challenge. Yes, even Drengin can be nice.

I am playing a game on a large map with the Drengin. A few turns ago I had the mega event where a disease breaks out. I immediately researched the cure, whitch took 3 turns. During that time my logistics rating was zero. I am running the new 0.96a[b].006 version.

The Drengin In TA get Psionic Beam after Laser V. It seems it is different for most races.

I only played Master of Magic. And there you can forge items for your heroes.
like the max size of units, game session lengths, map sizes
In MoM you could create armies. Each had 9 slots for units and/or hereos. Since you always had to planes with the same size, I had the feeling that the map was quite large. The game sessions could also be very long (like in Civ), depending on how many enemies you had.
