Me I place my ships on border worlds around possible enemy empires. That way I don't have to look at them. LOL. If I have Eyes of the Universe I usually don't have to worry about sneak attacks because the trillions of transports and starbases usually open up my space for I don't miss anything. If I feel that something is about to happen then I will place the fleets right on the borders of influence with the nation that I think is about to st

Have you tried running the game with adminstrator rights for the first time yet. Win 7 is nice OS but it still has the crappy UAC when you install a game into the program files and the game loads up for the first time and changes files. With UAC on for win 7 or vista this stops games from doing this. Hence the reason you have to run them the first time with Adminstatrator rights.

I figured it out. Seems that the new patch was not compatible with one of my custom races I made some time ago. I manaully selected all the Default Races (had it set to random) and now the game loads. No idea why they don't work, because they use the regular Tech tree! Oh well back in now! Yipee.

Yeah spies in this game are kinda not good. Not much that can be done about it though, if you make them less expensive then you can spam them all day and destroy an AI economy with ease. Right now they can slow the AI down a bit but once you loose them thats it. It seems cheaper to just have a few and save the money. The only exception is the Mega Event where everyone gets about 30 spies put inside borders. And if you get that event the game is over. Because even if you survive the AI

This was the biggest complaint by alot of people, and really if you just play Galciv 2 you will find that it far outplays and is funner then Moo could ever have been. Having a Tactical Combat would be fun, but really you can do without it. But if you can't and like tactical combat then try Sword Of the Stars. You can buy it and its expansion right off of Impulse.

Never known a game to damage a monitor. Its not possible. And think you need to check your facts before you go accusing companies of destroying hardware, that they can not possibly hurt. What happened was you monitor just happened to go when you were playing Galciv 2. I have been computer gaming for almost 15 years and never heard of anything like that. And crying over a box is silly. Because you know just as much as I do that it will just end up in a corner. And I'm sure S

By the way I was playing with the First release of TA, not the update that I see they released May 1st. I was hoping that would fix it. But I see people are having the problem still.

Just noticed this bug myself and sucks. Because it not only bogs the AI down, it Bogs you down. Sitting around 20 turns waiting for a simple tech to finish is crap. Don't know what they did, but whatever it was this was not the case in the last beta before the release. So whatever you added to the final did it. Keep wanting to play TA. But things like this are frustrating. And if we have to wait for PM to come out before they address this, then that sucks too.

Played as a custom race with the research bonus and with the terran tech tree. And noticed this. I thought things were currupted. To tell you what made me notice this the most was the fact that Federation went from about 10 turns to 29.. And my research was going up not down. I also use the all factories approach so I should be flying through the research tree at this point in the game. Instead I had to steal Weapons techs in a war and get lucky to keep up with the bad guys.

I hope they change Terror Stars a little. Because at this point even if a Minor race built 20 of them. Nobody would be scared. Because number one it would take 15 weeks for the dam thing to even remotely get close to any other Star, number two if your grandmother on the other side of the moon farts. The terror star is dead. Right now they are a waste of space. And if they don't change them. I predict people will build them maybe once or twice for the Owww cool factor. Then after they re

You could try the All Factories approach. Of course its a tough start, but once you get going nothing can really touch you on Research or money. When you start playing Twilight if your not already, if you thought the money problems are bad in DA. DA is a cake walk compared to TA Economy. Look around for it in the forums. Few Threads that are devoted to A Factories laying around somewhere.

You guys are my Favorite developers. I have bought all Galatic Civ games and Addons, and Sins. You guys treat us good. You talk to us. And you let us all participate in Betas if we wish. I wish all companies were like you guys. Don't ever get to big though.. Cause if you become like UBI, or the others. I will be mad. ;) Keep up the good work. PS the thing that is killing the PC gameing world is the Poor customer service. The shady bugged games some companies relea

I have noticed that the game locks up alot now. I'm pretty deep into my current game. Just seems that so much is going on that the game just likes to lock up on you. I'm also in a big war between me. (yor) and the korath. Its pretty much unplayable or something. Oh most seems like a Memory Leak of some sort. Too bad because It would of been an epic battle.

Also the extra money, is the fact that you can trade for more Econ Bonuses. Since every race has seperate ones, and extra ones. So if your civ takes them you get the bonuses added to your own. So maybe they unwilling defeated the purpose of the No Tech Trade Options. Really only two options. When you chose No Tech Trade you get the old Ship Maintance. Or disable the ability to take other civs econ trade. If they did not do this with the ship maintance

Ya, noticed the color bar too. But the numbers do go down. Also I hope they get rid of that awful noise that happens when you push the SKIP button. My god, that is the most Ear Shattering sound.

The way the game works in combat is that everyone fires everyround. Even if you die. So it would not matter if you fired first or not. Because Even if you did kill them, they can still fire.

Also. I just traded some Income techs and My Money doubled. As the yor, you can't change governments. Usually when I get to the point in game where I am now. I ignore trading techs. (Only trade to keep my Budget in the black during colonization) Well I just also got republic government and some others and my income went from about 300 to 800. That helped. So when you get civs like the yor that don't have a lot of money. Your going to have to trade for it. So now I just pl

You can expand! I have found that playing as the Yor right now that I can expand as fast as I want. I just can't build on every planet that I take right away. The first 4 or 5 planets I build up. When done I continue on. I also use the All Factories, with 99, 1 sliders. It is hard though, Most the early game is kept keeping your empire up. And preying that your Flag Ship gets nice 1000 Credit Anomalies.
