I have seen it too. Could of sworn I have seen the AI trade Techs it does not have. But maybe it was just me. Anyway you can tell if he is Screwing you on a trade, it might be in the Text.. But it won't be in his Trade box on the lower Right.

===On a related note, I've always found it funny that the AI always seems to pick any crappy little planet as their next capital. You'd think the class-19 economic paradise would be a better choice than a barren class-6, but evidently not in the AI's eyes.=== +1
I have been playing it since it has come out. Not every day so say. But usually I buy a Game and play it a week. Tells you alot about a game if Im still playing 6 months after release. Only other game that I have that has done this is Operation Flashpoint (still on hardrive in some form) and The Total War Series. Even though I don't play Rome Total War anymore I played it about 6 months or so.
For 1.4 they are promising that morale buildings will have more punch but be much more expensive. That doesn't help much. That would have a Huge Impact on the Economy of the game again. Maybe Just tweak them a little, but don't make them Mega Moral Busters at the cost of Keeping your Civ Grinding away at trying to build them all. It
Buy a MOral Building right off to offset the changes. Then buy either 1 factory or 2. Which ever suits your playstyle. Use to be buy a Factory first, but since moral changes happened Buy Moral Building 1st turn. Also turn down Taxes to help out also. The colony rush is now a Huge Managment issue, which it should be. Also Reasearch faster engines as soon as possible, and Get Sensors I fast. That way you can build Anomalie ships to grab those Money Anomolies. <img src="
It changed it 1.1 first,And has been tweaked ever since ________________ + Population growth revamped to put more emphasis on population growth ability and morale. Population Growth tweaked so that abilities are taken into account BEFORE morale bonuses. Net effect is that population growth ability not quite as powerful. + Population growth fixed dramatically. This is going to have a significant game play result that we're still having to fix in the AI. Before, on a cla
I don't know the exact numbers but its been this way since 1.2 or 1.3 I believe. But if you have below certain % your population will not grow as fast. And you get a bonus at 100% morale. Thats why alot of people take the Moral Bonus now if they play Custom races, because it hurts your Colonization real bad. Also If your population drops below a Certain number again I forgot what it was (I Keep them above 5 Billion) they grow even slower.
Hmm, does anyone else agree that having a good starting position was more important back in GalCiv 1? I remember to have used it quite frequently back then, I'm not using it that often with GalCiv 2. Don't rember much from GC1. But I agree you should not restart. My last game I had 2 empires around me. I out colonized them and they could not ex
Craig what Difficulty do you play and map size? Moral effects Population growth which will effect Colonization, and taxes in the end. Easier to understand though If I know what your playing.
I don't think that you have to worry, unless I missed something thier will be Never any Multi Play in GC2. So play the game and have fun.
I meant Either playing Older Version of game Without Moral Penalties, or easier Difficutly lol. As you will find though the game is extremly fun no matter how you play it. And Everyone has stategies that work for them, and might not work for others. Thats what is great about the game. Good luck.
Corners are the best place to start, not worse. Also You should not Restart the game because, even if there is someone next to you.. You back them into the corner (because you can out Colonize the AI everytime if you do it right)! Let them build up the planets they manage to get for you. Surround them for they can't expand. Then when ready attack them and take them over. I disagree about the Build order. (but comes down to whatever works for u) I suggest getting Sensors first, for y
See where this post is already going and understand why they get locked.
Politics suck. This is a game board. If you want to talk about his go to Democratic Underground if your A Democrat (USA) Or FreeRepublic if your a Rebulican (USA) They won't delete your post thier (well of course unless your of the Opposite Party)
Ah maybe you should read about them some. They are very Religious. Not surprising what their reaction would be. Last pope forgave the guy that tried to kill him. Not everyone in the world is After revenge and hate. Its a good thing.
Ok, stap it damnit. What our you the Speling policy our something.
Maybe the water on their planet is thick like custard MMMMM Custard..
Well, I have not seen SEV or played the demo. But I did play SEIV it its day and loved it. Of course its old now so some of the flaws might not be present. But I do rember one of my Outlining stadegies in SEIV was just to Mine The choke points (which was a little cheesy but worked). I use to destroy half the enemy fleets that way, because they would just keep coming. And I would have 1-2 mine Layers at each choke point ready to replace the mines. LOL.
Don't build them Either. Waste of Space, money, time, etc..
It must be higher. I don't trust in House Surveys. Its almost as bad as The DNC or GOP doing their own Surveys. I wonder how they will come out. But thats still bad. Thats like saying 28% of the Democrats or Republicans are not going to vote this year. LOL.
Yes happens all the time to me. It almost seems like the rally points just stop working for some planets.
I know you been ripped left and right in this thread about the Minors. So I won't get into that, one thing I might mention that you might not understand. Weapons in game are the most Valuable Item to trade in game.. So that is one reason your friend traded a little higher then Advanced Min. Second if your friends Diplomacy was much higher this can also cause Things like this to happen. If he has Diplomatic Translators then he is almost certainly going to have things like this h
Are you guys playing 1.3? Only reason I ask is because everytime I use Influence starbases and start taking planets. The AI goes beserk and declares war. Just wondering.
I think its needed. Pre 1.2 it was not. But now that everyone gets to fire at the same time, its hard to replace fleets when they get lost at the rate they do without the Defenses.
Yeah I don't like the Terran Leaders Hair Cut Either. I agree its Minor though.
