Well, DaMoose. It looked like you fell back across the edge to post 200. Perhaps some one deleted their post and cause the resuffle. You might want to check and see if the Exaulted Druid was doing funning thinks arround the time of the Solstice.

Actually, diplomacy also helps keep them at bay. Influence is another. There are many different strategies to play the game. I often don't build any military ships at all and win a tech or cultural or political victory on gigantic galaxcie with all 9 aliens. Never have had war declared on me
Bug: Point Defense I gives you Point Defense II for free. Announcment of completion of PDI is followed immediately with completion announcment of PDII. This is repeatable.
Remember that the beta is a beta and there may be bugs that keep you from finishing a game. If you only want to play and enjoy the game, don't play the beta.
Most of the Guardians have been hanging out at the "Core" http://www.thegalacticcore.com/forum/portal.php and have joined the Diplomats, at least for now. I have my own little empire because I haven't decided yet what I want to do for an empire.
AI's thinking to much I assume. ED, there is anotheer side to that coin
I play games starting with eveyone close. None are willing to ally with you on the first turn - at least that is my experience. I don't think you have enough money on turn one to buy them all either. Perhaps if you only have one alien you might (have to try that and see). After about 5 turns ro so they have all moved from close to friendly, so it takes even more to get them to ally with you. I don't think this strategy is a viable one. If anyone
I've had two games miss the tech victory by the last tech before it flipped to a culture victory. Finally won a tech victory where I actually researched ALL the techs, not just the ones in the branch that take you to the victory. That was sweet.
BTW, can you see any medals on this thread ? I cannot, but they are there on all the other threads. I see medals on everyone but you. Have you pressed the default button by you character?
Yes, you can submit scores played with "Fast Tech"
Good morning Diplomats. Hope you all enjoy the battle of the day.
You should win your game as soon as possbile. With that big a population you would have a score of almost equal size.
The metaverse seems to be taking days to update - at least with my empire. The empire shows 9 games have been played, but in fact 13 have been played. I played the 11th game several days ago.
Well, I bought it 3 times: 1. With original TGN 2. With tokens from TGC 3. Collectors addition for $20.
Well, at the harder difiiculties the Majors will go to war with you even if all their trade is with you and all your trade is with them.
I received a message that the drengin were going through a change and that they had changed from evil to good - after they had long disappeared from the Galaxy. Is this because they went to Hell and decided that was not where they wanted to live and changed to good so they could get to Heaven> The other interesting message I received was that the Iconians had a Tech level of 2007 and I had a Tech Level of 2321. Two turns later
I downloaded the 1.0.005 movies, etc, but when I tried to download and install the game it failed to install - The gc2.log says that it can't find ceratin urls (I think that is what it said). I sent the log in toe gc2bugs.
This is the 3rd CTD, all happening while doing different things. Some interesting "bugs" in the current version that I have seen before. 1. I get messages saying that one or more of my fleets if continued to move in the current direction will cause the Drengin to declare war on some other alien. I have no fleets. If I say continue, then indded you see a battle of the Drengin being attaced by the alien and when checking, the Drengin and I are at war. So, a mix up of who is who in the system. 3. Planets with more than one space p
Sorry, I checked and what I had thought was not repeatable.
That's not a bug, that's a new defensive technology! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle
Of course, that make it even more fun, because I can tax at 100% and spend at 100% and have the best economy of all the AIs. In fact, if you don't do that it take too long to build colony ships or do the research that you can do. Soil Improvement for exmple starts out at 144 weeks to comlete. A little slow.

I have never CTDed on colonization. I have on other events, like invastion, and sometime just presing the turn button.
I have seen the same think. Sometime a planet that could be seen properly turns black. My system spec's are 3.6GHz Intel CPU, 1 GB memory, nvidea 6800 ultra with 256 MB of memory.
