Hey guys, LONGtime owner of GalCiv, GC2, and the addons for GC2. I owned all through the Impulse platform, which then became GameStop. Anyway, last week, my long-time PC gave up the ghost, and I just got a new one. Went to install the GameStop app, and basically couldn't find it. Just wanted to post this here, if it might help anyone later... The problem preventing my GC2 from running (which caused me to re-install, which caused all kinds of other errors, but that's a separate story :) ) was that I changed from an old 4x3 ratio monitor to a newer 16x9 ratio monitor, and the new monitor had fewer lines of resolution (1080, instead of 1200), and GC2 didn't like it, and didn't sense the different resolution. I wound up with just a blank screen.<

I just started playing a bit, after about a year's break. I get a dead link where Altmeta used to be, so I assume it's dead. Either way, my thanks to those who ran it for all those years!

So, thanks to support, I have a working copy of GC2 again. The only difference is I now have the Ultimate Edition, instead of the standalone GC2 releases. So now my question is, how do I get it to start in something other than TA? When I start GC2, it's in TA, and I don't see a "switch chapter" button anywhere. Thanks! Update: Nevermind, I figured it out :)

Hello, Old timer here who's just returning to GC2. I originally got it thru the Stardock portal, which became GameStop. Have played it since it was Gamestop, probably about a year ago at the most recent. Tried today, and couldn't get the game to work at all, so I uninistalled/re-installed. Now it wants the serial, but the one supplied by the GameStop app isn't accepted. Any ideas how to proceed? Thanks

Thanks for having this here. Needed it in 2010 when I got this PC (Win7 64 bit), and just had a new HDD installed, and had to re-install GC2. Vaguely remembered the issue, and looked here, and found the fix! Great community of support! Playing GC2 (and GC1 back in the day) has been fun :) Crushbone

I just did my first ever re-submit, but I haven't seen it update in the altmeta. Does the altmeta not support re-submits, or am I just too impatient? :) Thanks, Crushbone

For my Metaverse entry (SeanThornton), it shows me in 137th, but with enough points for 134th. It's been like that for over a week now. It's always done this in the past, but only usually for 6-12 hours when it would re-sort. Any idea why it's not re-sorting now? Thanks!

I started a metaverse game tonight about 7:15 CST, and finished and posted it about an hour later. Then I've been trying to start another one since about 9pm. I keep getting some error that the metaverse is returning some unknown reply (I forget the exact wording). Any one else seeing this?
