obviously on a small map with few habitable planets you don't get many tiles which nerfs your ability to build wonders etc. some suggestions (probably stupid) follow: 1. scale terraforming techs with map size/habitable planets (ie small map = more powerful terraforming techs = more tiles for each individual planet) 2. consider making the manufacturing/economic/technological capital tiles an upgrade to the colony tile (with appropiate colony image), thus individually disting
Or give time reductions for "simple" upgrades such as just increasing existing parts to a higher level, instead of adding different ones entirely. I.e., upgrading a ship with missiles to Lasers V takes the full time, but upgrading one equipped with Lasers II to the same new model takes a reduced amount of time. i like this idea too (probably c
I've been mulling this from a different direction: VARIANT TECHNOLOGIES All modified weapon/defence types (ie Laser is base tech, Laser II to Laser VI are modified) are classed as variant technologies. Variant Technologies can be researched and/or gained by experience and/or gained by exploring anomolies, and/or randomly connected to other research (eg Laser plus Factories = Laser III). They may be available to all civilisations or they may be exclusive, leading to race sp
iz ok frogboy - i iz takin' it like a man - unlike dat ##$%$$## Kobra
a veteran no more.........
thanx frogboy. i think it might be a bit funny, i saw an Altarian Flagship very early on that was 2Beam/2Missile/2Mass and 2Armour/2Shield/2Chaff and i was still making musket balls.......
yep in fullscreen. i think someone else reports mouse driver problems, and perhaps this is related to that?
i've had this too, though the most common is a race placed directly on top of another race. There also seems to be 'start-up' races that i've had no 'meeting 'n greeting message' from.......
I've only had a quick run, but I've noticed that the AI can produce tiny/small ships with say 1Beam/1 Shield/1 Armour, and I can't physically reproduce that type of ship with the tech I've researched, because my stuff is simply too large (eg Stingers are Size 16, Armour Size 10, Deflectors Size 11). i've tried to research miniature techs to see if i can produce a tiny/small fighter, but can't. is it just me? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/smiles
i've had intermittent problems with scrolling when putting the mouse pointer to the edge. first time it just worked in two directions (and there were other performance issues). last time everything was cool.
i've had this too. if you lock a slider at x%, the other 2 ignore the x% and divvy up the total resources between them. i've also managed to produce a -12345678 type on divide 0 thing here, but managed to get rid of it by reseting all the sliders
jmgarth, u need to click the research button (which puts the reseach tech up in the queue at the top) before it'll be researched. took me a while to work ot out to. frogboy has stated it will be fixed into something more intuitive
clink clink *purr* hi cari.... your luis bunuel surrealist vodka martini beckons
I'd like to blame it on SP2, but I don't think that'd get me very far. i'm doomed then thanx for the heads up though, jmgarth. so it might be a .net problem then? i'm very interested in this dll problem though. any chance of keeping
there seems to be a fair bit of this going on (just check the GC1 forum) and i'm stumped meself. my only weird thing to date has been Medieval Total War crashing on the latest intel drivers, with the advise to roll the drivers back to an earlier version, and sundry other things like upgrading Media Player to version 10. don't know whether there's some problems with DirectX 9c and backwards compatibility, but something *strange* does seem to be going on.... <img src="http://images.stard
i'm confusing myself here - the 845g chipset has embedded intel graphics, but you also have an ATI mobility? is that right?
#################################################### INCOMING MESSAGE FROM FROGBOY. CARIELF, U IZ DIRECTED TO THE NEAREST COFFEE MACHINE AND CHARITY CHOCOLATE DISPENSER FOR A NICE LATTE AND A KIT-KAT. U AZ NO CHOICE ####################################################
