So the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 works ok for GC2 it does - the only glitch comes in with rendering large/huge ships in the battle veiwer (slight lag), and to be frank, i haven't played a galaxy bigger than large, but as I said Intel Extreme 2 is old now, so if you go intel you should get the 900 or 950, unless, of course, someone is throwing a

f you want to play any games, any at all, aside from GCII stay away from Intel graphics! this is true, especially for 3D - though the smarter companies are trying, if poss, to support the latest intel chipsets because of their currency in the marketplace eg BFME2 (which has support for GMA900 and 950). depends what you want. good battery life,

this games runs fine on intel extreme 2 - which is ancient intel now and only just supported to my knowledge.

it's a shame DG got demoted. when i read his 'cry for help', i wished he'd posted it in the council, but he hadn't. i made supportive noises because he was clearly trying to do his job, albeit a little undiplomatically. i thought the metaverse in GC1 was a great success - it extended the life of the game, was great fun, and presumably helped commercially. When GC2 was announced, it was on the back of an expanded metaverse, so there was, in me at least, an expectation of 'greater thin

i agree - once you've picked an ethic, any action that goes against your ethic could penalise your population's morale. planetary invasion is a good example of a simple series of strategies that can have an ethic attached to them. other actions might be the 'sneak attack', attacking unarmed craft/starbases, not honouring an alliance etc etc. it might be nice to see some small but important 'everyday' carrot/stick ethical choices placed in the game to encourage playing ethical alignments? though

Hi Cypher Pax! Sorry no sightings of former ANZACS, apart from me and JT, and Bakka, no ANZACS (though there is an Australian Commonwealth Empire). GROSS has been reformed, but the Empires ain't what they used to be - perhaps a victim of the game's success? Who knows? Ain't heard from Wombat in a long while, nor Quack, nor Hurley, nor Killa, nor Captain Jack, nor MM77, etc etc ahhhh those days........... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border=0 ALIGN="

i am of the understanding that this will be implemented. there was talk of it being in 1.1, but clearly other features took precedence. hopefully 1.2?

###################################################################################### Skowbo System, May. 19 -- This has been, perhaps, the most extraordinary day in the whole history of Precursor excavation. Whatever any one may have guessed or imagined of the secret of Carielf's office, they surely cannot have dreamed the truth as now revealed. The entrance today was made into the inner chamber of the office of Carielf, and yet another door opened beyond that. No eyes have se

i think defence is a little undervalued vs hitpoints. my suggestion would be that defence does not roll a dice but always defends at full value(direct)/square root(implied), whereas attack goes to (x + dice roll) to ensure basic damage and a plus to simulate successful targeting i agree about OFM, and said as much during the beta. defending planets should be able to fleet automatically perhaps armour should add to HP???

you've got a lot of support out there, brad - maybe you can rely on some more 'vollies' to monitor the forum while you bed the QA in? not me. i iz crap

they had a 'cheat-checker' at the end of the game for GC1.......and cheaters found a way past it by hacking their game files to look kosha. yes, it's a pain if you have dial-up (like sad old me) but I just start and save a few games in a batch and go from there.....

i've reported this in the council, so i'm sure they're onto it. hopefully will be fixed in the new build (out soon). be patient. my investigations seem to also link it to right clicking the blue ship icon to launch, which was a feature added at the last minute. though i could be wrong. but yes, it is an annoying b.u.g. that one.

i have used this tactic once or twice (but not with cargo hulls, just tiny hulls) when i'm up againt a militarily superior AI - it's called guerilla warfare and is I think is legitimate tactic to draw out a war in hope of peace (because you can't win it of course), but would like the AI to employ too in similar circumstances

still finding that occasionally when clicking on a ship/fleet that the previous ship/fleet (having already moved) is also activated and they both move. not sure what triggers it, but it does happen quite often. this is in 1.0X
