...is out now!
the new update is out check sdc
You're right, there's a 0.97[b].001! :CONGRAT:
So is there going to be a release today? Pretty please? :d We all know the AI won't be perfect yet, but it feels like the beta testers/players are left behind a little right now.
About time! Let's see if some offerings will convince Cari to release the next TA beta today! Come on, you know you can do it! ;) *bows to the ground*
Rock-Paper-Scissors is the prime example for a perfectly balanced situation, and as such it is the anti-example for an imba(lance). It is more difficult to create a balanced game the more factions you have and the more different they are from each other. In GC2 you have, well, a lot of races now and there are going to be a lot of differences, read: it will be almost impossible to balance them out without sacrificing their diversity - and the latter won't happen because it was the target
Unless my memory fails me, standard GC2 was relatively balanced. Some races were slightly better than others due to the race specific bonuses, but it wasn't a clear thing. The first real imbalances were introduced with the super abilities of Dark Avatar, and now they will most likely be increased with the individual tech trees. I guess that there won't be a clear winner that will be played in 90% of the difficult Metaverse submission games (at least I hope so), but there may well be a few which
Good news, thanks!
That will apparently not be coming back. It was decided that automatically shooting you to the end of a thread that you've read before (regardless if you'd read only the first page, or fifty) was too confusing to newbies. As with most other forums, there will just be an on-index pagination link for those who want to start on the last page.
Does that mean that there will be a way to go right to the last page/posting of a thread from the forums/subforums index?
Any news about the next beta version?
I guess you're right, thanks. Whenever I'm editing a reply on the updated forums, I'm taken to the first page of the thread after posting the changes, is that intentional? Most forums have a "go to last posting" functionality, this one doesn't seem to have one or it doesn't work for me. I get to see the first page of a thread when clicking on a thread title or on the small arrow on the right, not sure if that is what should be happening. Usually the small arrow takes you to the
Not sure since when, but we've been overtaken by the Kzinti Empire. :SURPRISED: With my last contribution being more than half a year old, I promise to give some points when TA is MV compatible.
Is there going to be an update tomorrow?
Congrats for the forum upgrade! It looks a lot more like state of the art than before. The text box is fine for me, using Firefox 2.0.0.12. Just a note: The link to the thread [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?aid=300026"]"Forums are back up"[/link] from the [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/"]main forums page[/link] (under GalCiv II News/General) points to a "this post has been removed message".
'Sins' in front of 'The Sims' - yay! :D ;)
Does everyone there have something in the game named after them? The Wardell system, Carinoids, Lentzlandians, Kohd Kritter...
I guess so. :) IIRC there's something for Kryo as well.
10 speed
Usually "+10(%)" speed ingame means +1 speed. It's a very old presentation issue, confusing at times.
It is out now!
Confirmed! There's a version 0.96a[b].004.
I'm sorry to report that Beta 4C is going to be delayed until tomorrow.
Not a big deal - and thanks for the information! (Yep, I know that yesterday's tomorrow is today actually.)
This week we're going to release Beta 4C of GalCiv II: Twilight of the Arnor. It's the first beta with some AI updates and will include one of the editors.
Good news! :CONGRAT: But - who needs Sins when you can have GC2:DA:TA? ;p
+ FIXED: The Jagged Knife no longer automatically uses the The, so you won't see The The Jagged Knife anymore
What kind of tech is the 'The'? ;)
*double post*
The 20,000 bc limit officially sucks? Yes it does. It should at least be scaled by the galaxy size or the number of habitable planets just like tech costs are.
Hmm, I hope my points were noted by someone, somehow? *sends his nicest smile to the Elfish bug huntress* :)
I think you're talking about influence starbases, while he was talking about resource starbases. I could be wrong.
My post above was about resource mining indeed. The Thalans can reach a maximum of +14% per resource starbase, while all (?) others have +39% if I recall correctly.
