Update still not available on Stardock Central, despite the announcement of its release. Waiting patiently.
As of 3:16pm EST it is not available on SDC but is available on Impulse. It is my guess that Stardock is moving from SDC to Impulse and you will need to get all of your updates from there from now on

XP's uptake percentage had to have been helped by the windows ME situation. It got to move in when every one hated the last windows release. Vista doesn't have that. As for having the correct hardware to run Vista - for the love of God does anyone remember when XP came out? How many computers came with it and only 128MB ram with some of that shared to the video card? Or 256mb and an entry level Celeron CPU? For the record I support Vista and XP computers daily for work. As a g
Never mind - i found them
I am probably just blind, but I am unable to locate there location so any help would be helpful :)
Just you wait till you see the production my class 28 planet with (5) 700% precursor factories produces!
At first I was filled with dread seeing their attacks of 20+, which is a bit higher than the piddly 1s and 2s the torians and I were trading shots with. Needless to say that all ship movement was stopped and all startbases and ships destroyed. Then I decided this would be a fun new challange Here is an interesting and -eventually- dissapointing consequence. When races military ratings drop near 0 they become very very docile and paniky. After throwing our race into research I was finally
It shows up in the research map but not in the quick menu on the left side of the research pane. I had to find it and double click on it in the map to start researching
*I meant turns not years
I usually play as a custom race with the Terran tech tree (for their oh so fast engines) with bonuses set to econ, moral, research and creativity Then I research straight for banks - then straight for republic. While doing this I try to send my colony ships a ways out to try to make a line near where other races might be and then fill in behind. This usually lets me get a planet jump on the AI which likes to fill planets in close to home. By the time they reach the line, they
the new max speed in the game is 5 parsecs
Ugh, I had that happen about 4 hours into an "Immense galaxy" game *sad face*
Most recent game it was the Thalans - Decently sized empire but built no military even after the Drengin DoWd them. Altarans have been average, but the Terrans were my biggest competitor the game before that. I am wondering if there is more variation in personalities in the expansion - makes it harder to determine a head of time who are going to be troublesome and who are going to be pushovers
I also have run into a CTD every single time Gravity accelerators are completed. Also of note: they are the only Super project that the game does not remove from the build list once you've started construction on another planet
They are way more opportunistic! Best be doing a better job of keeping your military rating up.
I'll agree with Brad and say the AI. I've been playing the beta for a bit so I might be used to the new tech trees but the AI has improved a lot in the last couple of releases. They are less gullible and way more opportunistic. One minute everyone is a peace, the next Galactic War I was under way and no one was safe. They seem more likely to come to the aid of like minded civs so plan your wars more carefully One thing I did notice was that it seems easy to buy AI planets early
In an effort to chase it down, I played for over 1.5 hours and not a darn thing happened. Figures - now I don't know what the heck is going on...
It seems that with beta5 my screen will randomly go blank and then revert like nothing happened. The flash lasts about 1.5 seconds and about once every 3-4 minutes. I can't seem to track down why. It seems to be limited to the galaxy map (although I spend much more time there than every other screen) and happens in every game I start. I did recently update drivers for my ATI card and add more RAM, but this is the only game I have problems with (so I am guessi
Ssshhh....don't tell anyone! How else am I supposed to get stock exchanges as my 5th tech in a reasonable time without it! I probably hit on about 6 a game and it makes me very said when it triggers when I have 1 turn left till I aquire the technology
Yeah, it seems weird to me that in TA the Acreans have a negative speed ability, yet a negative ability is not something that can be chosen when customizing the races
I still like the Federalists but I am all about economy and research in my abilities. After party bonuses its something along the lines of +1 creativity (for those research breakthroughs) +50 economy +20 moral (oh, how the people love to pay taxes!) +20 research and whatever else suits my fancy (usually soldering and diplomacy) I find I can get an economy up and running that will support any route to vicotry I want very quickly
Sweet! Now I can use custom races with my custom maps
You do have to be more careful with your economy. However, once you get a decent population base you should be fine but 6bil per planet just isn't going to cut it. I find that I only have a few industry heavy planets and use them to do all my capital ship building. Most of my planets are econ/farm heavy to subsidize my empire. seems to work well on tough
Nevermind. I added in some ships to the custom map and a starbase. Once I removed the starbase from the custom map the above steps worked to load the map just fine
Since this seems to be the consolidated map editor thread I will post/ask this here. In my attempt to load my map through the 'tournaments' option I can get to the 'loading map' screen but then TA crashes. Here are my steps so far 1. create map and save as alamo1.gc2map 2. create new alamo1.gc2campaign with alamo1.gc2scenario and alamo1.gc2map flags 3. create new alamo1.gc2scenario with Title=Alamo1 4. changed 'active' values for all placed races from 0 to 1 in
Thanks for the replies. What are the chances we could get to place bonus tiles on the planets as well?
First I want to thank you guys (a lot) at stardock for the map editor and all the hard work on the beta. Here are some things I noticed about the map editor 1) Randomizing planets seems to only generate uninhabitable planets. They can be re-flagged, but thats a lot of re-flagging :) 2) I do not see a way to set parameters on the generation like 'Loose Clusters' 'Common' 'Rare' and the like which could be helpful I was also wondering if it would be possible to see the re
