What will happen with the TG.net token system? For me, it's a great incentive to keep buying everything possible through Stardock's distribution rather than elsewhere. The token system will probably fade away. I.e. you'll still be able to use it on our stuff and select other publishers stuff but Impulse itself won't use it. A lot of gamers hate it and nearly every publisher we've talked to hates it. Obviously we like it but we can't support it on our own.
<br/

My question: What will happen with the TG.net token system? For me, it's a great incentive to keep buying everything possible through Stardock's distribution rather than elsewhere.
Impressive. Congrats to Stardock on landing this title, and congrats to GPG for making a great decision on publisher. Now where do I preorder? ;)
Here's one more voice in the choir praising Stardock. Take as long as you need on TA before "release." It's already a lot of fun, and if Brad can make it that much better, it would be a crime against gamers to not give him that chance.
It's a bit annoying when this kind of thing happens. I just had a Jagged blade event in a Drath game I'm playing. On the plus side, I paid everyone else off to war with each other, and went around gobbling up undefended Jagged Blade worlds... going to come out of this one greatly boosted. Though I can't do a tech victory now due to the previously mentioned ascendancy of the Blade.
The Drath are a slow start, but once they get going... War profiteering is WAY overpowered. I'm currently running a full huge map... I can buy a civ into war for about 1500bc. I'm making about 1700bc/turn from war profiteering. And about 500 from taxes, keeping morale at 90+percent.
Count me in for January. I'd rather see reviewers amazed with everything there, leading to more sales, than have the finished game earlier. You'll miss the christmas sales, true, but may be better off in the long run.
Unique tech trees per civ!!! Preordering ASAP! Thanks again for continuing to improve an already great game, Stardock! (Yes, I'm a little excited about this.)
It was announced a week+ ago that the beta was closing to all new purchasers. I'm not entirely sure why it still shows up as an option in SDC for you. However, as you pre-ordered too late, you will not have beta access. I believe this has always been Stardock's policy, protecting them from a flood of bug submissions from new beta users in the critical phase just before release.
Also, a Civ collection has recently been released. Perhaps you can find what you need in that collection. WWW Link
Well.. The game takes less than 10 hours to finish. The controls are awkward. The storyline is minimal. The involvement of Sisko and Janeway are cursory. The multiplayer is worthless.. What else.... Ehhh... The game sucks. 3/10
Since the AI already runs in multiple threads, the game itself is perfect for dual core rigs.
Excellent news. I assume the price will remain unchanged? Anyway, just let us know when to start testing.
Let me be the first to officially offer you a challenge (too see how fast you can kick my butt )
EEeeeeenteresting.
An interesting start. Keep it coming!
Hmmmmmmm... I can't wait to see the future directions you take in the series.
This is sort of related to the former topics. Hypothetically speaking, if I purhased GCivII from the store and did not have an internet connection to register it online, would i be able to get, say, the 1.2 update from somewhere else and be able to update it As I recall, if you register your serial with StarDock (Can be done from any net-enabled
I'm really starting to enjoy this
First question: Why is the submission deadline for questions a week earlier than the announcement?
Personally, I find that if you play a good, nonaggressive civilization on a gigantic map (I play against 9 intelligent) it's not that hard to hit a tech victory if you make it a point to keep your research infrastructure better than any of your opponents. Additionally, spend time early on to max out your economic techs, and you'll be crusing along in no time.
If you like what they did with GalCiv2, check out the other offerings through Totalgaming.net. Personally, I'm very fond of The Corporate Machine.
In case the above post was unclear, you are almost always better off designing your own ships. I suggest checking out the tutorials in the game as well.
Well... You need to research the appropriate hullsizes first. Then, add weapons and other systems to it. Try to add weapons that your opponents cannot properly defend against. For example, if you are at war with the Drengin, and they specialize in shields, then you should focus on massdrivers or missiles for your ships. Really, just try to counter the weapons and defenses of your opponents when designing a new ship.
I can't remember the exact formula, but GreenReaper posted the max population formula, and it does indeed involve planet quality.
