How exactly does one find/use the map editor?
Also if you use the updated GC Desktop shortcut it allows you to switch chapters and the TA chapter has an editor selection

Should the auto launch of colony ships trigger the slider that populates the ship? I build most of my colony ships on home planet but on a bigger map I sometimes use a lesser number of colonists originating from low pop. planets. As it stands, if you want to control the number of colonists on your colony ships you must turn off auto-launch. Also, confirm for me that you can not customize the design of a colony ship, constructor, or any other default original design shi
You're not saying that you created a custom ship style and that it didn't use the templates, are you?
Not exactly, I am saying that in the new custom design window, I changed and saved the default templates for colony and constructor and the next game continued to use the default core templates. The system named the new templates Terran ship styl vs Terran ship style. I assume this just means the original core ship templates are hard wired. So, you pretty much an
Have you chosed auto design in game options? Focus is working for me but I haven't really got the hang of auto design yet. I think you have to delete all your old custom designs for it to work but I may be missing something about the process. It just keeps offering me my old designs.
So there is supposed to be more then just 'launch every ship built'
You have an option on how many defenders to leave in orbit before they launch. You set the number in game options. All cargo hulls launch immediately but there is no option on number of colonists so if you like to vary this you can't use auto launch.
Hmmm. I notice that the option to let ships be auto designed means not much when you already have designs on file. I expected the user designs to be ignored but they always pop-up as the next option. I also can't figure out the custom design thing. I go through the process of choosing and saving custom designs for a custom race and the game options do not change. It just gives me the standard Terran (in this case) designs without over riding the core designs.
If that had been me, they would have surrendered to to Drengin or Korath. I can't count the times that one or the other AI "casts it's fate" with an enemy even when my military is number one and my relationship with them was warm. I have never been able to figure it out
I am replaying the same scenario.
You should try a sandbox game on low difficulty. That is the way to learn the game. The scenarios are never easy for beginners. Low difficulty level does not lower DL fire power and if they come after you early they are just about as bad on cakewalk as they are on suicidal You might get 3-4 pirate ships in a sandbox game but they are never that hard to handle imo and they don't invade, they just pick off your starbases and your o
Played my first tiny map game with the changes and noticed that the economy seems to flow more freely. Those who enjoy a lot of war and ticked off AI, will like the ascention crystals. Easy to grab them on a smaller map but the road to ascention is long and man, it makes the AI testy. I grabbed all five in a couple of turns and relations went from warm to hostile in less than 10 turns. Also seems that they are reluctant to let you buy their favor back with gifts. After acquirin
The developers are not obliged to any schedule for betas,
Of course not, and no one should wrongly infer that the waiting makes me angry with Stardock. Having said that, reasonable men gather expectations based on prior performance and it is reasonable and valid to rely on precedent. The silence IS deafening.
The hot-keys card that came with DA does not have any Control-U listed. If you know of an action from Control-U please describe it.
With cheat codes enabled, Control U removes the fog of war and of course the game cannot be submitted to Metaverse. I assume that the fog is removed for the AI as well as the player and it does slow the game down substantially on a large map. Regardless of the financial calculations, none of the building cost issue is a big deal to m
I have never lost a trade goods project to invasion so I am not sure but if you have a game where that happened you could see if it is still listed a trade item on the trade screen. If it is not there I would logically assume that future ships will not have the benefit but existing ships would not lose it. It would make more sense that you would never lose it since it is throughout your empire. Losing it would only be a benefit to the invader and no loss to you beyond the loss of future
Once upon a time, a man planted a tree in his backyard. He tended the tree with loving care and it grew and bore fruit. The fruit was delicious to the man, and he ate of it daily, continuing to care for the tree with love. One day while eating the fruit of his tree he realized that it was no longer as tasty as it once had been. Gazing into a nearby forest he notcied there were other fruit trees so he went to them and tasted. Not as good as my tree once was he thou
There is almost no scifi that I will not watch. Even bad scifi holds some fascination for me. Nevertheless I am a harsh critic. The original ST was very good in it's time and STNG was a classic. STDSN was okay at times and bad at times. STV was a little better than DSN imo. Enterprise was not good imo, mainly due to the muggings of Scott Bakula, the worst of all Trek Captains. Looking forward to the next incarnation, which is bound to come sooner or later
Hmmm, You must have lucky picked as well. I never get a boost more than once or twice a game and it is usually a turn or two
Resources starbases are a pain and I like the idea of auto upgrades. Maybe the defensive and offensive upgrades could require constructors and all the resource upgrades automatic in some way depending on age and tech level.
such as you
LOL, hardly me
I finally downloaded it today. The download took all of about 20 seconds and there is no noticible difference other than start up now shows ver 1.80g. There was also a short update to Galciv II which makes me think that this was nothing more than minor housekeeping. The biggest curiousity is the silence of the devs on the update and the problems associated with it
1) Multiplayer - why my friends for computer stategy games (10-15 persons) should purchase your game if we cannot play with self? Now only 1 bought :/
The great thing about this game is you can play the game and still play with youself
The average player will never win a game where that happens. The only player that could win would be one of the super-players just to prove it can be done
Based on the time it took to dl and the lack of any fanfare from sd, I expect this relwease will not amount to much
try switching the servers?
That could work the new beta is not listed on server 2
It is a decent demo. By all means try it first
A BTW question on Sins Do the space battles require a lot of frenetic clicking? If so I will probably not care for the game. The RTS part is okay but I prefer a game where you set up the right conditions (numbers, weapons, etc) and let the battle play out without having to compete with computer agility in movement, fire and aiming.
"wait for the demo."
Definitely I will wait. I have too often bought games (MOO2) that turnrd out to be not my cup of tea. Actually, I am pretty sure I will like the game based on what I read but my biggest reason to wait is my inability to focus on more than one or two games at a time. I recently dl SotS after trying the demo and I like the game but I find that it is diluting my attention to TA. Since TA is in beta this is not a real problem but I can not handl
