When you name a ship after designing it any future ships of the same design will be named the same with a different number. For instance if you name your ship Exelcior the first would be Exelcior xxxx and each new ship of that design would be Exelcior with a different number. I give my ships names as follows: (tiny) Lite fighters, Insects- (small) Heavy fighters, birds- (medium) frigates, reptiles-(large) Cruisers, animals-(huge) battleships, Gods-Worker ships, people. I keep getting one second updates almost every day without any noticable change in the media. My current multimedia version is 1.0.04 and my game version is 0.91[b].002. In the last 10 days I have had only one CTD and that was involving a corrupted ship design that is understandable. I am wondering if the short media downloads are actually patches. How does my version compare with the othet betas?

Is there something about the Dark Yor that I have missed. They pop up frequently as a minor race but there is something about them that I can't put my finger on. Then tonight in a gigantic I sent my first freighter to their single planet which was only one sector away. I got a 14 payment for the trade and other freighters that went much further returned much less. My imagination, a bug, a surprise or something I have missed?

The finished product may or may not have this but if not a feature that would be useful would be some icon or signal on the starbases to indicate they are still subject to upgrade. When you build a lot of starbases it becomes confusing remembering which ones still have upgrades possible. Just a little thingy like the hammer icon on the planets that would go dark when a starbase is fully loaded and come back on when new tech makes more modules available.

Just wondering, if I have a planet with a manufacturing bonus tile and I build the manufacturing capital on the tile does the tile bonus multiply the capital bonus? The same question would apply to a research capital built on a research bonus tile, a political capital built on an influence bonus tile or a project like Ultra Spices built on an approval bonus tile. If not I assume the only way to gain advantage from the tile is to build the normal improvement on the tile.

One of the captivating things about this game is the ship design feature. I spend a lot of time designing in each game. Since the designs are saved in a document file for future games, I would like to see a Ship design editor similar to the faction editor that was added to the SMAC series. played a recent huge galaxy game for hours with no problem until I started seeing ships showing 7 moves (or however many) remaining of 0 moves available, soon followed by cdt. I can restart but can't bypass an eventual ctd in a few turns. I also had the new intro video but made the apparent mistake of "upgrading" multimedia and found the intro gone. Maybe this has something to do with the crash. Not sure why I even have the .9x version since I am not a beta tes

I have found that range and speed problems can be solved early on by designing faster and longer range colony ships, freighters and constructors. Usually the cost of the new ship is cheaper to a few bucks more than the basic design.

Still getting silent surrender. Clicked the turn button and Bam got 4 planets on the other side of the Galaxy before I even met them. Got a flipped planet (Wisp) from the Altarians with zero population and zero resources. Had to pay cash for a farm and finally started growing some population, from what I don't know. I tried to send in a colony ship with 500,000 but it did not add the population. I thought when you parked a colony ship the human cargo was added to the planet

I havve desugned ships that show up in future games but never become available even when the tech is attained. Surely it will not be necessary to re-design ships for every game. I would like to have the ability to design all ship classes without the tech and then get the ability to build when the tech is available. Will this be possible?
