Holy cow this thread is huge now! I forgot... as someone else mentioned, it'd be kind nice to have the ability to blow up a planet again... like the terror star, or a gigantic gun that will barely fit on the largest hull ship... so you can't put extra engines or defense on the ship. Though I could be stupid and just not realized it's already in DA and missed it somehow(not talking about spore weapon).

- - - - - EDIT - - - - - I decided to include all 4 varieties in the mod. The screenshot in the library only shows red with white, but you can see all of them below. If it were possible to change the button order I would have put Metaverse up top, but so far it's not easily apparent (as far as I can tell, since this is all DesktopX and I'm not too familiar with the code). So for now, this should steer you away from automatically hiting "New Game" when you really intended

I just tried to do this but I am completely at a loss. I opend the mainwnd.dxpack with DX Builder but i cannot select the glare alone only the whole main console. That is as far as i got even with reading most of the developers guide... Me too. At this point I think it needs to be edited with a graphic program, but I can't figure out how to do that yet... since I'm guessing the graphic reference files must be contained within the MainWnd.dxpack itself?

Brad, if you happen back in here. I'm just loading DesktopX for the first time and am having trouble figuring out how to edit the resulting image for the mini-console. Well... I can't find the related image for editing in PSP. I'm guessing it's something simple, but I'm at a loss. Thanks.

Good news. Cari said this issue has already been fixed in the internal build!

I went through both lists, and recompiled them here with slightly different wording (since some ideas were mentioned several times but used different language. So it's a melding of all your great ideas - and are just the ones that are somewhat attainable in future patches. Also, the ones that would offer the greatest lift in gameplay mechanics and fun. (grammar and spellchecked too) * Remove the +300% food tiles (a sure way to tank your approval if you ever use them) or slightly chan

I'm so glad you asked * Allow the cutom race config screen to go negative so we can build in both positive and negative modifiers right in the creat opponent screen. I know how to do it via editing, but I'm sure people would like to play with that function too. I'd propose a maximum of -3 allocated attribute points, which would give the race a corresponding 15 + 3 = 18 bonus points to work with

Guys I've verified this and have sent it in including screenshots and the savegames. Shouldn't be too hard for them to fix once they get caught up. Cheers everyone... and thanks for the great support Stardock!

--edit-- The No-Glare mini-map is now available at the link below. --edit-- No Glare mini-map ------------------------------- If you look at your mini-map there is an artificial glare cast across it. It's an arc that goes over the the top theird of the mini-map. I'd like to mod that out, as the color shading it creates is simply too drastic for my poor old eyes to see.

My guess is there's a little ship somewhere still tooling around? Though it's just a wild guess.

I'll watch for this. BTW - does switching back and forth between ships help? or clicking a planet and then clicking the ship?

Spextrum. For revenue on the first map, max out the banking tech lines and don't forget to add them to your planets. Keep in mind, sometimes races just don't want to trade with the Drengin. Otherwise (as was mentioned), in some missions you can research diplomacy and run a negative bank balance the whole game - if you keep trading away techs for money. I'm not sure, but that might be more difficult with the latest patch though. Also, the missions do pick up and become more varied as

It also says a lot about how talented their programmers are. We often forget upgrading and fixing a game isn't done with a magical wave of the hand. It takes great knowledge and ability.

I like to use Tom's Hardware site which has charts for comparisons between CPUs, Video Cards, Hard Drives, etc. Here's the link to the CPU chart: http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu.html?modelx=33&model1=433&model2=453&chart=174 From that you can tell that a Core 2 Duo E6400 does better or equal on all of the various tests to all P4's including expensive EE versions. But it varies depending on application, but dual core only gets better as more things s

I think there needs to be more games played before people can say with certainty if trading is better now or not. I actually enjoy not being able to take advantage of the AI, and I have to put a lot more thought into what I will give away for associated techs. I'm not sure if this was changed, but if trading lame ships to the AI was nerfed - I'd love that. Winning via diplomacy before was insanely easy on Tough. And maybe some people don't like it now because people don't lik

Kyro - can you play/sim a quick-game and see if this is happening to you too? I posted a thread in the bug forum before searching... came back to see if anyone had commented and see I'm not the only person with the issue. I've done games with no custom races and am still getting the cheat flag. I'm going to unistall everything and see if it still happens.

11 Replies 10,727 Views

I'm sure it's just something obvious I'm doing wrong, or overlooking... but I'm getting the cheat flag on all my test games. If you look at my test character, "Lothar the Idiot" - he's not doing so hot... he's 0-6. Lothar the Idiot First I was testing to make sure a person couldn't cheat with SHODAN... then I found I couldn't get ANY game to not get cheat flagged - custom race or not. I'll give it some more games

Yes, I think so? If you have an issue let me know, and we'll make sure it ended up in the correct directory. BTW, I'd highly suggest you get Dark Avatar. The sandbox games are so much more fun. It's really a ton better.

Or am I just really really really unlucky in a very strange way? Bingo. Hehe. Want to konw something funny Albion? I didn't have too many bonus tiles either (for a few games). Then I loaded up a cheat game so I could do some testing... and whoa! 5 big bonus tiles on my home planet. I thought - well that just figures! hehehe. After more games it evens out. Really! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc
