the same thing happened to me. on normal difficulty I attacked a well defended minor civ with one ship (not previously at war), and ALL his battleaxes etc got up & left, leaving only freighters and colony ships. for some reason the battleaxes tried to attack as well, not their strong point. In the same game later saw most of one other minor races ships wander off into another sector and mill about a bit when at war with the Drengin. Very odd!

economy->money manufacturing and production do the same thing (affect both military & social building capacity, unless specifically listed as `military` or `social` production, like on your civ stats screen). mining can affect lots of different things, depends what you mine! note that if you have a large manufacturing capacity, you also need a good ecomony to afford to use it! It depends on your repair skill. You can get this from anomalies, techs (repair, advanced repair, self-healing armour etc), and can enhance it with starbases with repair bays. If you have repair skill your ships will heal themselves over time. Cheers Mrs P :)

here goes: a) Not at the mo. There is a big sticky thread on this subject above. b) They certainly arent useless! You just wont be able to point them everywhere you want, so will have to plan more carefully. Mining special resources always affects your whole empire and can be very powerful. Putting them in strategically important spots can be a big help as well. (e.g. round best planets, on trade routes). c) Attack upgrades give +1 attack, defence upgrade

I find it odd (but amusing) that good civs can trade ultra-goody-goody techs like `Benevolence` for badboy tech like `Master Race` and `Advanced Naughty Words`. Shouldnt these trades only be permissible if both civs meet the alignment restrictions? Not sure if this is a bug or suggestion so it can go here. :)

Wining and dining will help you reach a 'close' relationship. Its in the 'hot date' patch Brad released today. Never go too far on the first date with a Drengin.

Wow, thats a whole lotta questions! Im feeling helpful so here goes... Is there any other resolution that the game can be played at? Nope. Mind you, I *think* its already 1024*768 :notsure: Is there some way to figure out the path you need to take to develop a particular technology? I agree, it would be a nice in game feature. For now you could load up javascouts website and ALT_TAB between it and the game. Or get a bigger piece of paper...<br

Check out Javascouts tech tree (see stickied post) for all your researching needs! There is no option to turn of minor races at present, but some of the nastier, less minor ones have been toned down in the patch. As for winning: just keep going and youll get the hang of it! Cheers :)

To quote olaf73: `Sometimes it shows the update as 85mb, but then when you start the update, it just grabs the exe. Try that, or try switching to SDC servers to whichever one you arent on, Cali or ATL.` have you tried this? Ive heard re-entering your reg number may help as well. Cheers
