Please realize your ships had speed 2-3. Survey ships of AIs had 4-5
In the beginning of the game that may have been true, but I upgraded them all every time I could. Mine are faster than that now (7). Mine are regularly beating them to anomalies. Their one flagship (if it survived the wars) is not in the same league as my flagship plus 10 survey scouts. In my current game, I built about 10 survey vessels (tiny frame, survey pod, engine, nothing else). The AI has their flagship. I am bringing in a cash bonus most turns as well as the various tech ups and stat increases. The AI never built them before, but you could clear the anomalies out early in the game and your survey vessels would need to be repurposed. Now, with the respawning anomalies, these ships are a very valuable investment. This gives the human player a major advantage.
Kane wins since he has a bobblehead. http://ea.seenon.com/detail.php?p=23990 Seriously. Now, if Lord Kona had a bobblehead...
I was playing as the humans. I over-expanded (very easy with the economy changes, but that is a different story). Morale dropped. I was overthrown. A new splinter faction of humans was formed. The image on various screens showed the other human image, except for the diplomatic viewscreen which was showing a blue alien.
It allows me to do them in an order. Why would I not take the third tier and skip the rest?
There is only two companies that have the expertise to make a MoM2 : Firaxis and Stardock. Far from true, IMHO. In Hunt Valley alone (where Firaxis is located), there are three other companies that have enough programmers and designers from the glory days of Microprose that I'm pretty sure that any of them could pull it off. In addition, Steve Barcia is st
Hardware T&L will almost always increase your speed if you have a card that supports it.
Nearly all mice with 4 or more buttons can be programmed to allow any of the extra buttons to do what you want (including double-click).
Count me in as another who feels this way. I really don't care how the Metaverse is scoring. All I want to see is how my scores compare to each other.
...and when will that be?
Since I build dedicated sensor ships early and often, it doesn't usually give me that big of an advantage.
I agree, defense seems very weak now. It is made much worse due to your point 3 - the combat algorithm focuses fire on one target till dead. If the combat spread fire all over it might be okay. It seems like it isn't even worth investing in at all. Your research dollars, as well as the ship space, are better spent elsewhere.
Was this planet one that you had only the first level of extreme colonization for?
An ancient game called King of Dragon Pass did this and quite well. I am sorry that this didn't make the cut, because reading the AAR that it wrote was usually enjoyable.
That one frame of white that flashes when the Yor viewscreen animation loops. I know that this is minor, but it has bugged me since GC2 came out and has never been fixed. I figured that since there would need to be new animations this would be fixed, but it wasn't.
I find that they add to the charm of the title.
the only 4X game that i know that did this was Ascendency. It was awesome. It was not the only one. Imperium and Star Control 1 (marginally a 4x game) did it much earlier. MOO3 had it later. IMHO, all it does is slow down your game playing as you are spending a lot of time fiddling with your camera. FWIW, Ascendency had the dubio
In a heartbeat.
I had this same problem. It seems that it thought I had the new stuff and didn't download everything. A total reinstall did the trick.
Attack will still beat defense in the long run, but being the attacker (something the AI was not as good at as the human players) will not be as huge an advantage as it was before.
I think that Brad and Co. get to keep more of the money if you download it.
Just because brain dead microsoft has a suggestion doesn't mean you have to follow it. Actually, you do. There are certain versions of XP that will not allow non-admins to write (i.e. save your games) anywhere but these directories.
For me it was Empire
Like SpPace Rangers 2? I hope not. That weakens the whole game. I wish SR2 left out those missions as well as the other mini-games (text adventure and hyperspace combat) and used the effort that went into them to make the main game even better. (Note I like SR2 a lot, but the mini-games are mediocre),
Good gets plenty of bonuses.
