Someone bribed them?

And you still have just 63% approval? Wow. Now that's an unhappy population.
I always thought the Dread Lords are a joke when they appear in normal games. So did I, but I'll be a little more careful now. Same with those other minor races that appear (Vegans, Paridians, etc.).
Nope, the Vegans et al are genuinely a joke.
It's usually not a good idea to grab the "Mars" planet in your home system - since it's right next to your homeworld, when the AI eventually colonizes it, it'll flip pretty quickly back to you. As to whether it's better in general to snag low-PQ planets immediately or wait for something better, that really depends on the circumstances.
Actually, yes, they do.
No, I've seen it once or twice.
Part 16: The Second Torian/Korx War As 2233 drew to its end, the Torian and Korx armadas came together at last. Terran ships monitored the area as all-out war engulfed a huge segment of the intergalactic void. And things weren't going so hot for the Korx. <img src="http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee492/qrtxian/GC2TA_TerranAlliance_
Okay well good luck persuading Stardock to add a bunch of new modules and features and the AI fixes to make them work three years after the release of the last expansion. I don't think it will happen, but knock yourself out.
To be fair, he was campaigning for this to be in GalCiv III .
If you're just talking visuals, I agree.
While I agree that some visual improvement would be nice, I am really tired of people wanting tactical combat in GalCiv II. It's frankly a relief to not have micromanage battle after battle for once. So if that's what you mean by "wanting SOASE-style combat", then I'll have to strongly disagree.
By the way, for those of you following my Terran AAR , I plan to start a new one soon as the Torians (for the 15-year game I've mentioned above), since I'm going to reach the current point in that one in a few more "chapters".
Part 15, continued I continued to develop my planets during this time of peace, creating a few wonders: But even with the cash flow from anomalies, I was a bit low on funds, less bec
Will you be posting more of this, or is it a one-off?
Ouch. That sucks. What exactly are your computer's specs? Even in my biggest games, I've never seen this happen.
That is a long time to go without meeting anyone. You may want to give this thing another try.
Ooh, good, someone else actually doing an AAR! For screenshots, I upload them to Photobucker - others use Imageshack, and I think any image-hosting site works. I believe the manual says how to take them.
Part 15: Interbellum The conclusion of the Great Galactic War had not been a conclusive one. True, the Iconians were gone, and the Drath's new evil alignment effectively nullified them as a major threat - it could only be so long before the Torians came after them. But the Torians themselves were still a major danger, one which I would have to deal with as soon as possible; and relations with the Altarians were ruined likely beyond repair. Still, I expected the ga
Not that this isn't interesting, but where'd everyone else go? I'd love to see ChainsawSchmalz apply his "unique" style of immersive writing to some other race, for instance.
Speaking personally, the only thing in Program Files/Stardock is my old Impulse stuff. All GalCiv II material is under Program Files/Stardock Games.
I think it's intentional. I mean, the good races can and WILL go to war with a neutral race if they fee like it. I had a game recently where all the good races ganged up on a neutral race that had done no wrong. So the "good" choices having a lot of "morally uptight and rigid" choices highlights the fact that a lot of "good" races end up becoming Knights Templar. (WARNING WARNING! I'm linking to T
One thing that might be neat would be the option to retreat from a losing battle. Of course, if it was too easy (and the AI could do it) things might get very frustrating very fast, so it's an idea to be taken with a grain of salt.
Thanks for the response. Was it ever possible then? I wish I had discovered this game when it was new.
It was, I believe, possible in GalCiv I - there are certain artifacts related to that scattered here and there. As far as I know, though, no major feature was ever removed from this game.
Not that I disagree with the general sentiment, but what's the problem with DA vanilla?
From what I and others have determined by testing, the Dread Lords seem to be a genuinely random event. They do, however, rarely show up before the late game, and they won't show up if you've explored the entire galaxy.
Unfortunately, there's no way to find out who enemy agents work for without using cheats. And there's no way at all to figure out who bribed wars, though 9 out of 10 times it will have been the Drath.
