That's an awfully long gameplay example that you referenced. What map are you referring to? There was an Immense map added to TA, perhaps that's what you're asking about. If not, someone might be able to answer your question but I think you're going to have to help them out by being a little more explicit.
I'm talking about the specific map played. It was mentioned in the comments that they had

Was digging around ancient threads and ran into this game https://forums.galciv2.com/151986 You all mentioned adding the map but I can't seem to figure otu which it is or if it was ever added. I'd just bump that thread but it seems glitched out. Anyway, was the map ever added?
Anyone else notice the gameplay examples link under the Databanks doesn't work anymore?
I'd kill for a Daedalus ship in my games...
I was poking around the databanks looking for the gameplay examples, but when I went to open them I got this error message: " Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is t
My issue with tight clusters has always been that you get like 3 total clusters and you end up sharing that space with like 3 other civs... and your all close enough to hate each other because of influence... I'd love a setting like "Small Tight Clusters" where each group could get a few tight clusters of planets, where invasions actually require you travel a ways. Sadly I don't think we'll get it. The A.I already has enough issues waging wars in Tight Clusters when your right on top of

Just as a note to those that claim a static defense has never held historically. Generally speaking your right, very few static defenses have been noted in history as being exceptionally effective and between World War I and World War II we saw an incredible number of such defenses destroyed. That said, while they didn't hold in the long term, when faced with vastly superior attacking forces (typically 4-1 or better odds for the attacker), such defenses did not just roll over and die. T
Sorry, but I get tired of people complaining over stupid issues and wanting the devs to waste their time adding ever more sliders for things that don't make a bit of difference in the long run. Hit Control-N and get the set up you prefer - simple.
Yes, because the shape of the galaxy makes no difference in how the game plays out. Seriously dude, its not like we are asking for a retarded graphics boost or something similar
Were you trying to be helpful at all or just trying to piss people off? Looks like I did a bit of both. So, job well done?
Congratulations, you can be an obnoxious twit over the internet. You are now the equal of a 12 year old. When you have absolutely nothing to add to a thread in the future just pass it over.
You can make some of the people happy all the time. You can make all of the people happy some of the time. Some people will not be happy no matter what. There are three settings to choose from - random, loose and tight. And, there is Control-N if you don't like the starting grid. Between those options you can pretty much set the pace.
I don't see how this is "stupid". A setback, maybe, but not stupid. Just because you lose your capital does not mean you are the "rebel" force. Think of how many times throughout history nations have lost their capital (or biggest) city and have had to win it back. I cannot think of anytime in hist
I am very jealous! I never had the PeaceKeepers. I never had the Dread Lords. I never had the Pirates mega event. (And the weaker event only once.) I only had the Jagged Knife once. And that was at a time that they actually helped me more than made my life more difficult. They were an excellent way to catch up on technology with the rest of the galaxy when taking back my planets... A recessions? You can have an economic rec
Its a temporary problem as the game tries to figure out what its next move is for the A.I.'s. The reason it shows up more on larger maps is because the A.I. has more options.
I'm playing on Tough at the moment.
Well, simply put they expand faster then anyone else, end up with higher totals across the board (research, production, military) and then proceed to steam roll the game. I have 4 A.I's at war with them right now in my current game and... its not really stopping or hurting them, in fact its having the opposite effect of what I wanted when I provoked the war's, the Thalan's are expanding through conquest. Against the Drengin, Korath, Yor, and Terrans. And even with the many wars they still have t
Hum, I've got a similar issue, except it completely crashes my game to desktop when I'm alt tabbed.
Am I the only Gig/Huge player thats noticed the Thalan's basically completely dominating the games? They seem to have the best colony rush, best research numbers, and best production abilities from start to finish.
Your not missing anything, generally speaking starbases are sitting ducks unless you defend them with warships. Its something that bugs me to, but for the moment its the way it is.
Of all the mega events, the Jagged Knife one is by far my least favorite. It just... sucks. Especially when half the planets it takes are yours. Anyway, isn't it ironic that you actually have to have a stronger economy to lease something than to buy it outright? You apparently pay through the nose for that instant gratification. I hope that in the TA expansion they change that a little.
Actually the way I've heard it
Err... maybe I'll seem ingenuous, but...what is Executive Orders?
A novel by Tom Clancy, I'll reproduce the relevant portion below. "It was the simplest of code words. An instant later, he heard the same word repeated over his earpiece as Norm Jeffers shouted it from the command post. The black agent's hand pushed another button, activating a radio link to Washington. "Sandstorm Sandstorm, Sandstorm!"<

Its one thing for a mega event to upset a game. Its an entirely different thing for it to utterly destroy it. IMO the pirates could probably do with a toning down in firepower and defenses. I don't mind them being strong, I don't mind them being as strong as the strongest navy out their when they show up, but when they show up with absurd 10-1 firepower and hundreds of ships on my gigantic maps, proceed to trash all my starbases (destroying my economy in the worst way), and so on its not shaking
well, per Stargate rules all savaged/captured/found/etc ships must be destroyed within two episodes of their founding.'
Sad but so true. I hate that they destroyed the Auroura.
