Sadly, I remember trying my own version of Plan Omega before. It worked about as well as expected. It wasn't the most boneheaded move I've ever made: that was giving away my homeworld to the Korath in exchange for an alliance, figuring "Well, it'll flip back in a few turns," and forgetting that my homeworld was also my economic capital. . . 100% tax rate and 0% production couldn't save me. I had to raze dozens of buildings to get back in the black, and then the freakin' Yor ate me up.

My friend talked about playing Alpha Centauri as the Human Hive, winning the game, sitting back and feeling satisfied. . . for about ten seconds before he realized what a horrible thing he'd just done by uniting the entire world under an oppressive totalitarian regime.

There are three penguins in a bathtub. This is not a sexual joke. The first penguin says to the second one, "Hey, man, pass the soap." The second penguin says to the third one, "Hey, man, pass the soap." The third penguin spins a pinwheel and says, "No soap, RADIO!" XD Huh? Wikipedia "No Soap Radio."

PS: Have you ever considered posting the whole thing to another website? such as Deviantart or Eflwood? (I am members of both, and this is the kind of stuff they eat up) I have a DevArt site (mocaw) but the thing is, they probably wouldn't "get" this story. There's a lot in it that you wouldn't "get" unless you've played this wonderful yet admittedly slightly niche game.

Ok, I just have one question. Is there really an interdiction field generator? If so, where is it on the tech tree? And what does it do? (I'm assuming decrease spped of enemy ships.) No, the "slow-down-enemy-ships" effect is part of the Yor super ability, it happens automaticlly. There is a starbase module that does something similar called the Warp Field Inhibitor, I th

What do you call a black man flying a plane? . . . a PILOT, you RACIST!!! (Sings "We Shall Overcome.")

True, but if you don't have the colonization tech, you can't build factories and such, which is usually what I want to do: that planet is usually the advance base for my next wave of invasions.

I think it should have a heavier relations hit. There can be many reasons to break an alliance (i.e. not wanting to get involved in someone else's war) but there's only really one reason to break a non-aggression pact.

EPILOGUE ********** February 28, 2231 TAAT "Battle of Lentzlandians" Location Classified I got a letter from Liria today. She reminded me that it's been two years since that day on Lentzlandians when we all thought it was over. She was also incredibly pissed off. I'm not sure who told her about my rendezvous with Cassie, but when I find out, I'm going to deliver some pain. Come to think of it, maybe it was Cassie herself who told her. It's the sort

Three was showing me the video that's been going around the nets lately, the one that the news feeds and the politicians have been waving around like a parade banner. Most of these strategies are good, but I want to add one caveat: if you start off next to the Korath/Drengin, you may want to prioritize weapons and planetary invasion after the initial colony rush and just start invading planets. Also, attempting the Neville Chamberlain "I HAVE ACHIEVED PEACE IN OUR TIME!" route of giving the Korath tech to keep them pacified because the Drath and Altarians decided you had to die in a secret meeting and you couldn't fight a four-front war against them AND the

I'll be a little nice and let people know the story isn't QUITE over yet You might not like the eventual ending, but it's better than the "EVERYONE DIES" one people seem to think the last post was meant to be. ********** July 30, 2239 Tir-Quan Training Center, Location Classified "What was it like the first time you felt the Premonition?" I've only rushed for Extreme Colonization twice. Once, I saw a nice, big, juicy PQ 26 toxic right on my doorstep and didn't want anyone else to get it first. The second time, I had a whole bunch of aquatic worlds right in my starting territory and soon realized I'd started off next to the Iconians. I didn't feel like trying to fight them in an Influence war right in my own territories, so I rushed to colonize them first. Otherwise, I wait until I need said tech to invade an enemy world.

********** February 28, 2229 Hell Funny thing was, I didn't have time to be scared. I was too busy fighting like hell. The Yor burst in like an exploding waterballoon, flooding into the corridor like cockroaches. They were immediately met by a lance of flame from Six's cannon that tore the first wave to shreds, and by sniper rounds from Seven's rifle that blew them to pieces. That didn't last much more than a minute and then it was down to hand to hand. <br/

Actually, a lot of animation outsourcing gets sent to South Korea nowadays: take a look at the number of Parks and Songs with three-syllable names in the credits of shows like Powerpuff Girls or Avatar. Clerks: the Animated Series had a hilarious take on it. (SUPER FUN AMERICAN PARTY!)
