Seth, Ctrl-N shouldn't do that. Did you end your game earlier than April 8? That will trigger the cheat flag, but if you go back and play it out to April 8 and re-submit it will remove the cheat flag from the re-submission. Happened to me once and I was confused myself :).

Oh, I think the rest of us will keep the lights on until he returns :).
I think it would be great if either KzintiPatriarch or Neilo would be willing to become Commissioner.
I'm sorry to hear about your unfortunate change in circumstance, but thank you for a fantastic job my friend. Can't wait till you're back. :)
I've got a guess: You invaded the Iconians or Thalans first? I might have to try for zyw using these settings when I get back (traveling for the weekend), now that I know it can be done. Just for fun :).
Great job Piznit! :) I honestly didn't think it was possible. Did you proc planetary conquest with Twilight creativity? Or is it just that the AI develops slower in Twilight?
Great game! :) Drengin!?
Twilight can't compete on score with DA or DL. This is due mostly to the MCC not giving a +100 econ bonus like it did in DA and DL, but the lower starting cash, higher maintanence on buildings and ships, often limited tech trees and situationally improved AI also all contribute. Unfortunately, I tried to patch mine and it completely broke it. Twlight won't start a game at all for me now. Pity. It's more fun to play than DA, but it may not be the best tactical choice for MVL due to its score
I applied the alpha patch last week and it completely broke Twilight. More specifically, the game now crashes to desktop when the Metaverse button is clicked on, displays all races as having 15 ability points in race set-up in standard games but does not show the list of abilities on the left side of the screen and crashes to desktop out of the "game loading" screen before reaching a playable state. It's useless presently. Before asking for help I figured I'd wait for impuls
Fantastic game Neilo! Beautiful! I will now kick myself for not submitting own game minutes before deadline :). Seriously, that is impressively done.
Thanks all :). Neilo, I do miss being on Team E. I held off volunteering to be a captain at first partially in hopes I'd end up sticking around. But we've got a great group in Team B and I don't think I could be bribed to move. I do however wish the Villany every success in their efforts to come in second  ! Sounds like you have quite a good game going too. I won't be surprised when you shave off a handful of turns and post a one year with a better score. :)
1 year 50,400 JustinSane5 character timestamp 6/17/2008 4:38:52 PM. I am glad with the result, but very glad to be done with that game. That was a serious grind for a 1 year game. The only other game I recall being that much work was a gig/abundant all suicidal.
Congratulations! I'd never have thought it possible :).
I know many of the Arrakis Imperium members joined this empire and were pretty active until about a month ago when they went quiet. I'd guess they'll probably come back around eventually though :) If you are looking to join an empire, the Kzinti are the current top dog, but the Tyranny, Olympians and Diplomats are all still active. I'm a member of both the Olympian Gods and the Galactic Diplomats, and both are great. If you are interested in learning about the game and improving yo
Great game! How many game years btw?
I'm going for 1 year myself. Looks pretty good so far, but may be a close shave. Fun in any case. :)
I think the Terrans simply have no weak point, which makes them easier to play both for the AI and the human. With the MCC dead, the Thalans are viable, but I don't think they are too strong.
How are everyone's games going? Personally, I'm finding it a bit of a tough slog. The combination of a lot more planets, a lot more opponents and slow research gunks things up a bit. It is a nice change of pace from the other rounds I've been in though :).
Hmm.. this is very odd, but not only does the game now crash when I click on the Metaverse button on the initial screen, but when I try to set a up a normal game all of the races show precursor history, cybernetic and a ruthless history in their list of starting technologies, then the game crashes to desktop after I try to create the game after staying on the loading screen for ~30 seconds. Very odd. It almost seems like I've got a different patch than everyone else or something. I tr
Alright, I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious, but how should the patch be installed? I extracted the files to the Twilight of the Arnor folder. When I ran Twilight, it showed 1.92 alpha in the intial screen, then crashed to desktop when I clicked metaverse on the menu. What am I doing wrong?
I've not tried the Krynn influence starbase modules, but can they compare with the Korath's Dark Influence structures? +200% planetary influence bonus is massive. I'd think that would probably be the most effective. It would be especially funny if you took the Pacifist party, for another +20 influence. Pacifistic, Super Isolationist custom Korath :).
Thank you very much! I would also just like to say that while no company has perfect customer support, I continue to feel that no one tries harder than Stardock. Tech inflation has broken the game for me, but I haven't even posted on it because I had nothing new to add and had complete confidence Stardock would address it in a timely manner. This is slightly later than I'd hoped, but still much faster than most games are patched. Please know that many of your customers appreciate your effort
I like to leave a tiny fighter on each planet as an idiot-proofing measure. It is not optimal play, but it prevents accidents. As to the broader question of defensive play, I would say that star bases are the key. Playing as the Yor (super isolationist, soldiering bonus, industry bonus for all the constructors you'll need, evil alignment for free starbase upgrades)and building military star-bases with the -enemy ship speed modules throughout your territory, so all enemy fleets can o
That rush has been known for at least a year (I posted an early version myself in the Galactic Diplomats forum). Even with that being the case, there are less than five players that have chosen to play a large number of zero year games. They have done a great deal to advance the knowledge of what is possible for optimal play in rapid conquest. The record went from just over 30,000 to now over 90,000 in a few months since this group began competing. You think this is a bad thing. I think it'
Translation: Metaverse continuity is meaningless and all Metaverse players are soul-less abusers of game mechanics. Already, the changes to the economy and the nerf of the MCC mean that it is nearly impossible to achieve Twilight scores comparable to the best DA (or even DL). If that is your opinion, you are entitled to it. Personally I do not agree that whenever the best players find an effective technique it must be nerfed with extreme prejudice. What is wrong with having it simpl
