Thank you very much! Great news!

The Iconian and Thalan are pretty glaring in how much better a custom race using their tech tree is. Arugably, the Drengin are in the same boat (particularly since you can choose a better super ability). I think that Custom races are impossible to perfectly balance with such diverse tech trees and are probably the strongest option in Twilight (possible exceptions: Altarians, for the research bonus as you mentioned, and Terrans, who can dominate with focused diplomacy). I don't thin
GE: You can submit a game using any Metaverse character you have, in any empire. Once you have submitted your game to the Metaverse, you need to post the game information (submission time stamp, character, score, game years, version at a minimum) here in the round 9 forum. :)
I love the round settings. I think Twilight may actually be worth a shot here. Thanks Silver! :)
The first pick that didn't go according to my draft projection (thank you to Silverbeacher and KzintiEmperor for helping me prepare!) was Seven300 (who I simply overlooked.. doh :)), so I think all the captains have been thinking along very similar lines indeed :).
Team B selects MarshallONeil. Welcome to the team and enjoy your sabbattical :).
1. Wyndstar 2. DethAdder 3. Ferrel 4. Piznit 5. PlayJeff 6. Silverbeacher (who I was hoping to trade up for. ah well :))
Very interesting AAR. Thanks for writing this up. :)
Team B would also like to propose a trade of the #8 draft pick and two bonus points to team A in exchange for the #6 pick (pending approval of the league commissioner, as bundling points earned in the bonus round was proposed and there seemed to be no objection, but no direct confirmation either).
Team B is thrilled to select Ferrel! :)
Great work guys! I'm feeling foolish for not being able to figure this out :).
Seems to me there are a couple of players that haven't confirmed who are worth considering :).
Thanks for setting this up Silverbeacher :) Are captains allowed to draft players not on the confirmed list if they want to gamble on their returning? And I would guess that each captain is very much aware of which players have bonus points, but I also think Piznit's suggestion is a good idea. :)
I'm terrible at score-mongering, which is one reason I love the MVL. I'm reasonably good at completing games quickly (in game years that is), which is given equal weight to score (and takes a lot fewer hours of play in my experience). If you can't shoot high (score wise), shoot fast :). The MVL is my favorite thing about GalCiv2 right now. I joined relatively recently and am very glad that I did! If you're considering it, why not give it a shot for a round or two and see how you lik
Maybe they ought to leave the inifinite tiles bug, if only to counter-act the maitenance expense and loss of a working MCC :).
Wow.. incredible.. you two are truly insane :). Any hints?
Accepted. :) The 3rd and 8th picks rather than fifth and sixth sounds good to me. Thanks :).
Question on the draft: Are trades allowed? If so, can bonus points earned by a team captain be packaged with a pick to potentially move up in the draft?
Thank you very much for the nomination guys :). I'd hesitated to offer to captain a team because there is a roughly 20% chance I'll need to take an indefinite leave from the MVL in a few months, but given the lack of volunteers with more favorable situations, I'd be happy to captain a team if that would be best for the league. By the way, since I'm rather inexperienced with the MVL (only two rounds), if I do become captain of team B would anyone (Silverbeacher?) being willing to help
This has got to be a modified Mumblefratz strat, right? Incredible breakthrough in any case. :)
I'm in. :)
Umm.. wow. That is a staggering score. I don't know how you did it, but congratulations!
Great first game! :)
Welcome Lord_Arkham :)
Good to hear. Please keep us updated on what you're liking and disliking and what you find to work well. :)
