I've always dreamed of being able to control and reenact the Dune books in a game like Gal Civ. I don't have the technical ability to create a mod for it though unfortunately. I'm talking about an ultimate Dune mod. Based off of Frank Herbert's books, not the movies/tv show. The whole thing, tweaked Dune-specifc technology trees, Bene Gesserit, all the houses, CHOAM, arrakeen worms, trading, houses that interact with eachother (i.e. Harkonnen V.S. Atreides), Dune themed minievents (mega events a

Could it maybe possible to speed up the computer turns by taking longer on your own turn? Seems possible...
I bought GalCiv2 yesterday at best buy, I can also confirm that Gamestop has the game as well. I love Dark Avatar and the included hotkey map is great as well. Kudos to stardock and their amazing products!
Thank you! All set to go.
I have 512 megabytes of Ram and the card has a max 64 memory. Yeah integrated sucks. lol.
I already own Dread Lords, but purchased the Gold Edition (for DA) at retail today. So how do I connect the Gold Edition serial number to my account (metalphor)? I haven't found out how to do that yet and would like to get the update for Dark Avatar. Thanks in advance!
What are some good tips for increasing performance on a pentium 4 2.5 ghz machine? I'm using an old intel imbed graphics card. It's a 2002 system... shitty. For the most part, everything runs okay... at first. Further into the game though, it bogs down and there are some excruciating wait times between turns. That's the only problem I'm having really (slow wait times in mid-late games) aside from choppy Combat viewer sequences. So is there anything I can do to get it to run better aside from buy
I can confirm I saw it in stock today, though it is better to buy it direct from Stardock- as more of the money goes to them, [rant] instead of crappy companies like Gamestop that rip off the customers and employees. [/rant] The part about more of the funds going to the people who actually gave you the fun, aka Stardock is true though.
I know, I feel sorry about but it's the only way I'll be able to access this amazing game. Where did you see the game out?
Thank you guys.
I won't be able to download the game through the internet so I was wondering when the retail version will be available. Also what stores will carry the Gold Edition?
What does that have to do with the V1.5 update of DreadLords?
I went to stardock central and downloaded all of the new Dreadlords updates, but exactly do they do?
I personally think GalCiv should stay as a single player game. Thank you Frogboy for keeping it that way.
How do I do that? Like, what would I do to attach the new Gold Edition serial number to my account so I can recieve updates? And thanks for the reply.
I just wanted to know, because I have DreadLords already and understand you have to buy the gold edition to get DA. Which is fine, I was just curious as to how the serial codes will work. Will I have to make a new stardock account? Will DL and DA be playable right away in the retail version (no update required?)? Or will I have to update the Gold edition Dreadlords to play Dark avatar? Thanks in advance, and anything else worth noting pertaining to this subject would be appreciated. Thanks.
So now we get a NEW serial code... if we buy the Gold edition? That means I'll have to create a new account, right?
Why is that?
I'm not getting it if it is. That is so disappointing. I'd rather walk into a store, pay CASH, and walk back home with the case and all. I hate using credit cards... hell I don't even have a credit card. I hope they allow Dark Avatar to be sold in retail soon, I was saving money up for it.
Okay, Stardock central isn't responding either. I've got it installed, but when I try to log in, it locks up and says the page is not responding. Any recommendations? Sorry for all the questions... and thank you, I appreciate the help.
Yeah actually, I do have a firewall. I have thought that was the problem before, but what I don't understand is that when I activate the activation screen locks up and is "not responding". Now about the stardock central, how does that work? Like installation, activation, etc. Thank, for the reply. Also.. can I play Dark Avatar without the 1.4 update? And does it use the same system requirements as Dread Lords? Thanks again.
Hello...? I really need to know...
Okay. I own galactic civilizations Dread Lords. However I am able to obtain the 1.4 update for some reason (computer freezes everytime I try to activate and stardock hasn't helped me out at all...I've even sent an email to support). Anyways, will I be able to install Dark Avatar without the 1.4 update? Also, does Dark Avatar contain the same computer requuirements as Dread Lords? Thanks in advance. I really want to get Dark Avatar (and that damn 1.4 update!!).
I'm having the same problem...
Okay. I downloaded the patch for GalCiv2. My serial number is working. After I installed it, I booted up the game. A screen comes up asking for my Email and serial number. I input the information... then i click "activate". Well... nothing happens. I sat there for 5 mins. I tried to click out but the screen was "Not responding". I tried it again 3 times, the same thing happened everytime. I had to reinstall the whole game because it wouldn't let me play the game without activating it, which as y
