Don't be afraid to download and install Winstep Xtreme because it is still in beta: Winstep betas are well known to be more stable than many 'official' versions of other software vendors. They also go through a lenghty period of private beta testing before being released to the general public. This is probably one of the main reasons why alternate shells (i.e.; programs that replace Explorer as the shell instead of enhancing the existing shell) are not for everybody. Getting back to Explorer is actually pretty easy once you know how, and as long as you are confortable with editing the Windows Registry. I also bet the answer is probably prety high up in Aston's FAQs. This is just an observation, by the way, not an attack on anyone

I've been getting some pauses too, specially when browsing the forums. The page initially loads and then CPU usage goes up to 100% for a few seconds, with IE being the culprit. The IE window stops responding until CPU usage goes back to normal.

Eh, I downloaded Vista as soon as I got the email from MS (was actually at the computer when it arrived).
