I may have a problem with this build. I am developing a mod, so I am in the process of teasting it out. Not that it makes too much difference or anything, but the next release of my version of "my" abilities mod (MrKorx + the rest of the abilities) has the government ability removed, because it doesn't do anything, according to CariElf's modding guide. D'oh! Jon

Ok, I've made the changes, and I am reposting the mod. For some reason, it doesn't work if you put the AbilitiesBonus.xml in the English folder of your mod. If you just put both in the Data folder and not in a subfolder, it works. Thanks for the suggestion MrKorx, and for the input Kryo. Jon
Mr. Korx, Good point! I'll play around with it. Updates are a problem regardless, because if English.str gets changed, we've saddled the user with an obsolete version. Do you think there's a chance I could just alter the relevant parts of English.str, and just put THAT in the mods folder? Thanks! Jon

Brian, Download MrKorx's Logistics and Miniaturization Mod, and see what he did. Just don't use his files... his files are from a MUCH older version of the game. Anyway, this is what I did, and it has worked wonderfully. Jon

This week I uploaded three new mods to the Library. One was published for just a few minutes before I found a bug, the others have yet to make it up. It seems that new mods like to go up on Monday, but I won't have much time this week, so I am pre-announcing the mods now. I wish I could take credit for these, but all three are updates and expansions of other people's mods. I hope the folks involved will forgive my rampaging through their work (I have credited everyone involved). MOD 1:

Seems Stardock never really fixed this, they tried with GCII but couldent seem to crack it, very frustrating when your machine has loads of memory and others with little memory have no problems, shows there is a real big problem somewhere in the code which I'm very surprised hasent been fixed yet. Could this be a MetaVerse-onl issue. I always play on Gigantic maps... I only have 800-odd mb RAM. I do have a 2 gb pagefile, but even when it was 700 mb I didn't have this problem. And my machine is OLD!
