General Pants

I'm not sure it is possible to rename ships... I haven't found the command yet, but I'm new to the game. If it isn't there, that would be really cool. Also, it would be great if we could set up (or load in) thematic lists of ship names that could be used for each class. For example, I design a cruiser, I assign the lead ship to be named Cleveland, and all subsequent ships to draw sequentially (other option is random) from my "American Cities"-theme list, with an auto-prefix of "U.S.S."

I'd really like to see a green light for ship's jewelry. I'd like to do the left wing red light/ right wing green light thing, but I can't. Jon

I would like to see the code changed so that you could only scrap a ship for money when it is in orbit over a planet with a starport. Same with upgrades. It just seems very reasonable to allow ships to magically change to a new type of ship without any outside assistance. Or, for that matter, allowing them to fold up into scrap metal, then ship themselves, and their crew, back to a planet. Jon
