I play all the way up the tech tree, and to be honest in the end 1 of my Dreadnaughts can normaly take out a hoarde of high tech fighters with out a problem. 6 on 1, and I don't sweat it, (I had a game where the Korx had a fighter that could do 127 points of laser damage. But a fleet of those against 1 of my Massive size ship with an attack of 50 defense 120+ shields, 120+ point armor straight from the shipyard with out the bonuses from my mines- (In the end it was something like 100 attack/240

The Yor are the robots, the Korx are mercenaries. Are you sure the korx aren't robots? They look like 'bots to me... As far as taking the planet, it should be easy to do with a small force and mass drivers, keep attacking until the population is down to something you can take with mini-soldiers or the like- Of course looking at the date, I

I think the best strat for dealing with Minors is, let them be- Trade with them regardless of alignment... and protect them- Sell techs to them to keep them strong. I find that it makes a good, uninterupted cash flow. No more loosing cash when majors declare war on you- Except for the trade they did with you. Also for some reason at the higher levels, I seem to make about 1.5-2x the money of the same length trade route with a minor, then a major- Anybody know why?

If a planet has a large population and you don't want to lower the PQ, try this... Attack with mass drivers using an insufficient number of troops to fully get the job done - make sure you lose, but in doing so you reduce its population considerably. Then send in a second transport, utilizing less destructive methods like traditional warfare or mini-soldiers, with e

but in some cases it would not be advisable for the game developers to inform the public of what exactly causes the "cheater alarm" to sound because it will aid unscrupulous players in devising a means to get around the cheating safegaurds. While, that maybe true in some cases, I think it would be quite helpful if they'd give us a more detailed

I thought you always could do it, I just never bothered.. But I may be thinking of some beta build When I played the game when it first came out (1.0) I could not, if I built a 20 attack, 20 defense, 30 hitpoint ship would show as a 0 attack, 0 defesnse, 1 hitpoint Mini Frieghter. So I never tried it again, also read in these posts where the que

Thanks for the answer Master U; you can look at "Answers to questions about the Metaverse" forum to read about what causes the flag to appear That I did, but the answer is not very indepth- Such as *what* causes the flag to tip - Tried to search for more on the subject but came up with a big 'zilch' which is why I asked the question

I'm just finished a game, (Patch 1.31) and it got flagged for cheating. Which I did not do- (the graphic tweaking I did with the ships has not caused such a flag in 3 trail runs, so I doubt that did it) The game did become unstable at the point where I punked the Torians out of all there money and IP points when I signed a peace treaty leaving them with just one planet. The game would crash going into the next turn, so I in the end, I had to reload and kill them off to make it into the ne

Then lately I've piced the Fed Party- (Populist Party seems to work well too) Use to do Technolgists, but for some reason, it just doesn't work for me anymore. What I'd like to see is more AI coordination, so that two weaker powers agree to declare war together on a stronger one. At the moment, once you have the biggest military you generally just get left alone unless you start something. Amen, how I long for the day when the AI can band togather and form an surgicaly accurate "allied" attack forc
