I am quickly losing respect for Stardock in those forums. S1Genocide... Just let it go. Stardock is a game Developer. I doubt they really care to wade into the politcal arena, since the problem with wrestling a pig, is that bystanders can't tell you from the pig - My respect for Stardocks has grown since they took the stand to keep politics out

I originally did the multi-defense approach because I felt I recieved a roll for each kind of defense. After patch 1.31, the damage my multi-shielded ships recieved seemed to jump up

Hey Mumblefratz- how would you suggest we go about testing your hypothesis? I'm more intrested in the Multi-defense theroy myself- which I can test at the same time. Figured I could kill two birds with one stone.
I agree with the OP, it would be nice to be able to set the target priority before combat- and really, thats all thats needed. Thou, the AI would almost have to make it so transports flew alone with Fleet support.

*scratches head* Well, I've found that one weapon seems to be the best, even in 1.31. I have mixed and matched, but in the end it seems to me that the 1 weapon solution seems to work best- dealing out more damage on average as long as I'm not running beams agains sheilds or guns vs armor... I normaly have 2 to 3 versions of my fighting line ships that I upgrade to accordingly depending on what I'm about to face. Since it seems that if I run 2+ weapons, I get more low rolls that are beat by my op

I was under the impression if you pre-order the game, they don't take the money out of the account until the game is released. So I pre-ordered the game today, and then the money was taken out of my account. So.... Does this mean my copy is in the mail?

a damage of 10, 10, 10, 10, 10 and 10 has the same mean and total as damage of 5, 15, 0, 20, 0 and 20 but have very different standard deviations. Oops...
