i had the same problem and my star density was at zero as well. i bumped my setting up to 1 and no problems since. out of curiosity i tried setting it BACK to 0 and got that crash. it also happens if i try to load a game in progress with star density at 0. it loads but as soon as i try to render any of the graphics outside the load screen i got a ctd with that nice standard "we're sorry but galciv 2 has encountered an error blah blah". every thing plays fine with a density of 1 though <img src="

The biggest problem with this (other than the fact that I like to do things the old/hard way) is that I can't save incremental patches. and thats what i like to do. its just a pain to have to redownload a file if i should have to uninstall the game for some reason and have to repatch. just wish broadband was available around here then i wouldnt have this worry

... i remember asking about patches before and was told (as far as kryo knew) that updates would be stand alones.....i cant update those huge files through sdc cause of dialup. what about the rest of us cursed to not being able to have broadband? i'm feeling a little screwed out of the latest updates and fixes. i understand it "takes less effort" to do it through sdc for the developers but wth. i would have waited to get da if i had known i would have had to wait forever for a stand alone patch.

i know this was probably asked before (and dont say do a search for it cause i did ). is sdc the only way to update the game or are there plans to do the updates like before where you can download right here from the site? the reason i ask is because i am on dialup and trying to get some of those big files is just impossible without a dl manager with a good resume feature. i know sdc has one but it doesn

i was reading up on the expansion and saw its going to be a download only thing. gotta admit to being seriously put off by that. there are some people that are still on dialup (yeah i know harhar but i cant get anythinb but dialup where i am). does anyone at Stardock realize how long it would take for someone on dialup to get the expansion downloaded?! i'm pleading with you Stardock NOT to make it a download only expansion! i enjoy galciv2 way to much to get burned by not being able to get the e

i was locking up and crashing too after a turn or a few, i found out (after uninstalling and reinstalling the game twice)that what i THOUGHT was additional collectors edition content and the newest (not beta) patch didnt like one another and were causing the problem.
