Ok thanks guys, I think I need to do some logistics research.

This may have been in the game all along and I never noticed it. But I just got the latest beta, and I noticed that at some point it's charging me to put up new starbases, and the amount it's charging me is increasing. It seems like it's based on the total number I have and not the number per sector, and it has something to do with my logistics. I just can't figure out what the system is, and I looked around and couldn't find any beta patch notes that describe it. So if someone could explain
Yeah I found it after i posted. That and learning you can right click on ships icons on the right side to launch them or go to their planet was a life saver.
All right thanks for the tips guys, I'll give some of that stuff a shot.
This game seems like it could be really great, and it seems like the developers are doing their best. But thus far I've been totally mystified by all the reviews I read saying how spectacular the ai was. My last game was campaign, and the ai had plasma weapons (I know because I stole them when I conquered a planet) but built only defenders with no weapons or armor at all. I'm guessing that was a bug though. Before that I played regular at crippling (I think, that or painful) with no tech tra
I assume this is a bug and not just really, really bad ai. I played the first mission of the campaign on painful, but it was really easy because the drengin did not make any ships with actual weapons on them. They just put stacks of 'defenders' with no armor or weapons on all their planets and waited for me to come massacre them. Didn't attack or send anything out but constructors. Then when I conquered one of their planets, I stole Plasma Weapons (!!!) technology from them. Gee guys, that
I searched around for this, but I could not find it. If you want to upgrade only one part of your ship, say weapons, is there a way to do just that without having to go and place the engine, defense, modules, etc. all over again? In other words, let's say you've advanced your beam weapons a couple of levels, but you haven't gotten any other tech. When you go to upgrade your ship, you have to place all the engines, modules, defense, everything all over again just to replace a couple weapons.
This is pretty simple and has probably been mentioned already. But on an SLI system, you may find that your mouse is disappearing on one half of the screen, even if you use hardware mouse pointer. In the NVIDIA 3d settings, I had my sli rendering mode set to autoselect, and it worked for the first day I had the game and then the pointer started disappearing. To fix this, set the sli rendering mode to single gpu rendering mode. You'll need to have it show advanced options to see thi
