greeeat. I'll wait for the final package. In the meantime, I'll just use some of the Imperial pack. Great job. Hope that many more join you for the final Star Wars Mod. A Map could be really neat: SW Map Oh, and for my question about checking the ships in the shipyard, any clue?

Me I have another question about that ship pack. @Stephan (Terraner05) I posted it on the i-mod forum and didn't find the answer to my question in the modding guide you suggested. Well.. I don't think I found it. @All If I copy files for the ships I want to the correct folder, but I need to overwrite .X files because I also added ships from the Rebel Package, what do I do? In my understanding, if I overwrite the .X file (originally from the Rebel pack) by the one in the
hahaha, sorry to have taken your time kryo. My mistake all the way for that point (1). The "me" I encountered is an old version of my custom race (same name, except for a "The" before). So I basically play against an old me. I deleted the old race to not encounter that problem again. For the Yor, well it seems that they are ok too. I though they were starting on Dark Yor 1 and not Iconia (never played against them so far), but the Race selection screen has proven me wrong.
Well.. just checked the complete map. There is another weird thing I think. I haven't played a lot of turns (about 10), and the Yor already have a lot of planets (about 10). The weird thing is that they currently control Dark Yor (which is fine) and Iconia (and surroundings). I am thinking that the bug also chose the Yor a second time instead of the Iconians... Can I send you my save game?
hum... for (2) well, I was experiencing it before the final 1.6. I don't remember however if it started before 1.6 alphas and betas. But I played a little with the video options. I also downloaded Heightmaps and put my slider to 0%. I was still experiencing it. Now I'm at 90% I think, because I wanted to try my new 1GB of RAM (total 2GB). It is weird... the scrolling is fine until I start to zoom in/out. Then, like I said, it becomes choppy (except at a certain zoom level) and
ok, I'll check it out tonight when I'll be back from work. Any comments on my 3 bugs?
Is there a cheat to show all the map (remove the fog of war and see whom are our opponents)? And if yes, how do I do that? I just want to verify the problem #1 I reported, to see if there is any more duplicates.
Wow, that game might be really good for me! Some of the screenshots kind of remember me SW Rebellion (there seem to be heroes and ground forces/defense). The problem is that I don't even find the time to play GalCiv2... damn..
At least Stardock doesn't engage in the same type of marketing, which many other software producers do. ElWhop0: I'm with you on all your reply, and more than agree with this comment. The best example of bullshitting is EASports. Big publicity... showing you, for example NHL 07 for XBox360... Then you buy it for PC and realize that it is a "/$"/!" emulation, with crappy controls (you cannot even use the mouse correctly when making your lines!), crappy g
Maybe he should buy a console, then he would be able to play without Vista (and video drivers) and without getting frustrated because he didn't find the problem (which was not GalCiv2)
Big applause to Kryo (and others) for keeping their calm when posts like these are posted.
Hi, I have experienced those in my newest game of DA. I started the game, saved before doing nothing cause I liked the map, and reloaded today. The game has been started, saved and reloaded with the newest version of DA(1.6). Here are the bugs: 1- Duplicate opponents. I tend to randomly select my opponents. I always play with a custom race. In my newest game, well the first opponent I encounter is... me ! Yep, I play against myself. So there is at least two of the same race
can somone give me his/her credit card number so i can use it pplz!!! I really hope he doesn't think he'll get one.
ok, understood. More processors = less waiting time between turns. Thanks again Kryo.
ok, thanks for the answer. That drives me to another question. Because I'll have more memory, can I enable the AI option for multi-cpus? Does the AI directly depends on the processing power of the PC, or it can help to have more RAM? And if I enable the option (without multi-cpus in my PC), what will happend? Will the AI computation use the maximum power of my CPU to run certain algorithym and discard other that can't be run because I'm single CPU even with the option checked? <
Hi, I currently have a PC having these specs: - AMD Athlon 64 3400+ (2.20GHz) - ATI Radeon 9800 All-In-Wounder - 1 GB RAM - WinXP For some reasons, I decided to upgrade my memory to 2 GB (1 new GB). I currently have virtual memory configured for using 2-3 GB on my HDD. My question is: now that I will have 2 GB of RAM, should I disable the virtual memory to let Windows (and GalCiv2) use only the real RAM? Does Windows is smarth enough to not use the virt
You guys and gals are great! A great game keeps getting better. Thanks! resumes what I had to say. Thanks again ! Can't wait to try a new game !
Like I wrote in many threads: Irregularities: - You can learn exactly which technology the opponent has in the trade screen, without any spying involved. - You can upgrade a ship anywhere in space, even at the opposite side of the galaxy where you have absolutly no presence. - You can visualise every planet's terrain and content when you want to place a spy. Just cycle through the planets on the screen to learn many things about your opponents. - Sp
hum... the check box is already enabled... but I just found out that SD Central doesn't update my games automatically if the updates are alphas or betas ? Am I right? I thought that when it was updating automatically (when starting SD Central), it was doing it to the latest available version regarding its state (which is not a good idea after I think about it heheh). So I updated everything. The problem is that I lost my saved game (damn). It was still an auto-save and I s
Hi, just sent a report to SD (with SmartException). But wanted to post it anyway, maybe to get a quicker response. I currently have the latest version of DL and DA (just updated with SDCentral) - I load a game I last saved on march 11 (don't remember the version at that time) (I know, long time ago, but had so much to do past few weeks, haven't got the time to play) - I acknowledge the Research Screen and the Planet screen without doing nothing else; - I click the D
Sorry if I post somebody else ideas, but there is to much to read for me right now in this thread. Anyway, here are my dream requests for this already wonderful game: - Above everything else, better starbases. Make them more expensive, more long to build, I don't know, but please more powerful, especially military ones. Starbases only stand 1 or 2 attacks. Who, in a galaxy where war is always present, would want to go work on a starbase that will not last one attack? - T
While the upgrade part probably works, I have a problem with theupgrade system. It doesn't make sense that a ship anywhere in the galaxy, whether in orbit or deep in enemy space, can all of a sudden, upgrade into something new with new parts. I honestly think either there should somehow be a limitation that a ship can only be upgraded either in orbit, near a planet you control with a starbase, or not at all. JMO. I'm not alone ! I find it weird also. IM
- Long life to carriers. - Why do ships can upgrade themself, lost in space? They receive lasers from a portable worm hole? Carriers could allow upgrade away from starports and starbases (IF a patch or expansion limit upgrading to starport and starbases, which is logical in my mind) - Carriers adds a surprise element to battles. You never know what's in this targeted ship! - Carriers let you concentrate on attack/defense when designing your starfighters instead of Life Support and Sp
Will Stardock tells us what will be included and the release date soon ? Can't wait to know!
true transports should be large to make room for all those people and shops and training and entertainment ?? Transports are for troops, for war. Do you think the army guys sent around the world in real life bring their families? Transports are for battles. When you conquere a planet, you should have approximatly the same population has before (depending on the way you invaded), but with a real support % problem (also depending on the w
