A player using a custom race doesn't strike me as very problematic; if anything, the player may be shooting herself in the foot by using less points than she would by using a stock race. At the same time, a custom race showing up as an opponent also doesn't strike me as problematic; they are far more likely to be a straw dog for [i]another opponent[/i] than they are for the player. No, obviously using ARC will not adversely affect your health, nor are they "illegal" (though that is exactly why we are discussing this, I thought). Hmm, I had no idea we could change the race config in these ways and still play a legal metaverse game. Now that I know, I do not plan to use it. To be quite honest, it does seem unethical to me; much like an athlete using steroids is. The fact that anyone can make these changes does not mean that it should be done. Update: I got past this problem by decommissioning a LOT of ships. Not exactly a satisfying solution, but it did the trick.

Latest build of DA did not help me. I'm getting rather sick of encountering this problem, I have to say... about ready to give up playing this game.

I had to abandon a game a few days ago due to the DL showing up too early. It was rather frustrating, I agree. In general, I'm fond of most of the mega-events, but I don't like the way they are "intentionally unbalancing". By all means remove me from my comfort zone, but at least make sure it's still possible to win the game. DL showing up and building orbital defenders before any of the AIs or myself have even learned planetary invasion makes the game rather pointless. Some of
