Hi Zack, Whether this is viable or not, I have no idea. I doubt it, frankly -- at least for this version of the game. Also, I'm getting the distinct impression that Stardock is leaving GalCiv2 behind them, as we rarely get any updates or posts from staff other than Kryo. That's not really a complaint, mind you -- was bound to happen eventually. In any case, I can't see them making something like this a priority at this time, setting aside commercial viability, etc. Anyway, I do

I don't understand why you think that all games absolutely have to have multiplayer. For some games, I would agree that it is a good thing, and fortunately today's technology makes it viable. But not all games need it... certainly not this one. Besides, there is nothing inherently better about multiplayer; in fact, I tend to prefer games without it.
Sorry...this made me crack up. Found my copy w/expansion and game guide in original box for $5 at a garage sale. Can top you on this... I found my copy of SMAC at Future Shop for $5 with a $5 rebate . Still trying to understand that one. Also bought copies of System Shock 2 and Planescape: Torment for the same deal. Good haul for $15 free!
Aaaaaannnd when i go to talk to the klingon, instead of their race moviw thing, i get a static picture of the Arcainian(or whatever they are called...) help? Ah, good, I'm not the only person that experienced the Klingons as Arceans problem. I was told at the time that it was probably a user error, rather than a problem with the mod. Glad to see that is not the case.
That's fantasitc, Embird -- Greeat score!
Xcom is brilliant turn-based tactics Corrected that for you. Great game, even now... though my WinXp machine hates it for some reason.
Is Thief that Splinter Cell-esque game where you steal stuff (thief...stealing...or did I miss something)? Cause I played one of those (#3 I think) and I thought it was awesome. No, Splinter Cell is the Thief-esque game Thief came first, and is an obvious inspiration for Splinter Cell. I'm playing through a cheap copy of Pandora Tomorrow right now, actually. Kind
sorry i have personal knowledge that this is wrong. I hereby pronounce you the winner of this thread.
Both Canada and Australia know too well that the old country has strings still in place on which they can pull. The Queen, should she choose to, could terminate the current Canadian parliament and force elections for a new one (basically fire Harper and his conservative cronies), despite what Canadians themselves want. However, having said that, I'm not really sure that it would happen now the way it has happened in the past; while most Canadians have some respect for the UK and the Que
Well, he is Canadian. Mother's milk, and all that. Being Australian, I'm sure you know what I mean. Here's to all ex-British colonies! *hic*
Playjeff is only 11 years old? Well, that explains his last few comments...

A 7395 point tech victory for the Blade Runners! Yes, I valiantly hit that turn button until all of my enemies could do nothing but quake in fear of my button-pushing ferocity. Neilo , can you take the score directly from my character Incitatus' profile? Actually, since we have time, I might try to get a better score before the month is out. Besides, I think I can hit end turn much faster now that I've had some practice!
Well done, themocaw . Having also tried my hand at writing science fiction, and knowing how difficult it can be, I really appreciate how well crafted this story was. Aside from a few very minor complaints, I thought your story was brilliant. I'll be looking forward to reading any other fiction you write.
People who criticize other's spelling and grammar need to be made aware of Skitt's Law . Not quite as reliable as the laws of physics, but close. That said, I definitely tend to judge the quality of a person's opinions based on the quality of their spelling. Consider: if they're too lazy to use a spell-checker (which is built right into GalCiv2's editor, for crying out loud!) then they are probably too lazy to do enough research to
I can think of a few PC games that were exceptional but their sequels did not live up to them as they were launched on consoles as well, deus ex 2, rainbow 6, thief to name a few. Actually, Thief 2 was quite brilliant. Much better than the first, which hasn't aged as well, though was still a great concept. Thief, System Shock, and Deus Ex were all made by the same team, lead by this guy .
In my opinion, assignment to league teams should be random. In fact, that was one of the main reasons I came up with the idea of a league in the first place. Being assigned in order to fill in a team with less players is fine, though -- makes sense, really.
Canada evil? C'est quoi?
1989 earthquake in san fransico man survives for four days in about 10 inches of space. did i mention he was diabitic. a diabitic cannot survive 4 days without food. same quake 2 kids survive in a car that is crushed and their mom and aunt/friend are killed. yes one losses his leg. but the point is that they survived. I see your point: what kind of deity would cause an earthquake to hit a major city like that? If such an evil god exists, he doe
Okay, I changed the code so the Blade Runners banner points to the sign up page, so anyone who is curious will know what it's about. I suggest we all do that. (Better than sending them to the Blade Runners, since that is not where they may eventually end up...) <a href="https://forums.galciv2
Okay, thanks... now how do I add the Blade Runners banner to my other banners?
Thanks for your support, ghost... I think! Equal parts a) I think you would be great, and b) I don't want to do it btw, I just posted our first score in the Results thread. Score seems horribly low compared to what I'm used to achieving, but with so few planets, I suppose a win is a win. Yes, I played that one in DL, both for a
I'm good with the name and the banner, which looks awesome. As for captain, I would be fine with you doing it, Marshall.
I am so glad we have you on our team, Marshall -- even if we lose, we'll be damned stylish.
