I will NOT read through another long thread of rules bickering.
Well, it is getting rather ridiculous, I agree, but...
So please ignore this thread because mumble is overstepping his authority (again).
...but here you lost me. Mumblefratz was actually assigned by Neilo to do this, and it makes sense. It will basically cut down on a lot of the need for those long discussions. In no way did he overstep his authority,
Hey, how did you know about my Monet?!?! I haven't really seen the need to go outside of this forum for the Gerontocracy, frankly. Empires, as a concept, don't really amount to much, and everything we need to say is just as easily said here where all can read it. In fact, I wonder if we might lose people, or not attract as many new players, if we moved this conversation somewhere else. How would people new to the game know that this empire is active and welcoming new members? B
Ohpleasedon'tpickmelastpleaseohpleaseohplease Sorry, bit of a highschool flashback there.
+ Improvements Tweaked: A value here, a new bonus there...several improvements are now 'more better' based on player feedback
Would someone mind expanding on what was done with improvements?
OK, done. Thanks for mentioning that. You know, I just looked at the high scores, and it's weird... I don't recognize anybody in the Overmind, nor have I ever heard of it, yet somehow they shot past us at some point. Meanwhile, the Kzinti has only one member that I've seen post in the forums, and they shot past us as well. Who are all these people? Not complaining, mind you... just curious.
Okay the MV league round is over - this means I send the_butter_flies (my default character) back to you. Feels good to be back!
Great! Welcome back, sir.
btw: a link on the empire site to this thread or the core would be nice. Some publicity too. After all, we are rather close to rsing from rank 7 to rank 5.
Sorry, "empire site"? Not sure what you mean here.
A second link from ghostwes' first post in this thread to our emp
So: an unbalanced, multiplayer, space-based, turn-based, real-time, 4x, first-person shooter. I mean, Sins may be a unique genre, but I think we've brainstormed a masterpiece, here.
I take my previous comment back... this is starting to sound like a fun game!
Forgetting about balance and making the game multiplayer instead seems an odd approach. GalCiv2 was designed to be a single player game. Might as well request that we change GalCiv2 into a first-person shooter while we're at it.
random: have you guys ever played a (usually drinking) game called "President/A**hole"? MVL sorta reminds me of it.
Check out The Great Dalmuti, a card game designed by Richard Garfield (of Magic/V:tES/Netrunner fame). It's a variant of "President/A**hole", easy to learn, even for non-gamer types. I tried it a few weeks ago and had barrels of fun. I was rather inebriated at the time, admittedly, but still.
Your best bet is to read through a lot of the posts in the Strategy forum; lots of good stuff in there.
Yeah, Florida was purchased by Canadian retirees a few years ago. Did you not get the memo, megachu17 ? Well, that's not your fault; we'll be gracious and give you another two weeks to clear out.
Whoa, that can't be right, can it? The HCH is enormous!
Up to you, my friend. No worries. I signed my league character incitatus up to the league empire.
Nobody seems to have noticed that Bussard died a few days ago. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bussard
Habitat for Humanity build? That sounds very intriguing, Marshall. I'd like to hear more about that when you get a chance.
When was the last time that the U.N. has replaced an established regime with a stable government (much less self determining)? Never, since that would go against their mandate (at least as I understand it).
Actually, EA was a wonderful and responsive company back in the days of the Buten brothers(?? - you oldsters know what I mean); of Archon, and 7 Cities of Gold, and (heavenly trupets in the background) M.U.L.E. Those were great games, I agree! The company was a lot different when those came out. Not quite the evil mega-corporation it has since become.
I remember the evil butterflies in A Fire Upon the Deep . Great book that! Didn't really get into Rainbows End , though, and was very surprised to see it get the Hugo. I was rooting for Glasshouse . I'm sorry to see you go, thebutterfly , but you're always welcome back if you change your mind. I might be a bit absent for the next little while as well, as I want to focus on playtesting TA... looks like it will need a lot of lovin'

Well, nobody else seems to have mentioned this new building yet, so... http://media.pc.ign.com/media/958/958632/img_4823195.html Aerodome +15 Ship Defense +10 Ship Attack "The Arcean Aerodome, a college for combat flight, teaches the doctrine of 'Offense through Defense'. This theory improves offensive combat skills by encouraging certain piloting disciplines."
Good idea.
