Thank you rodolfopellegrino. So the problem is definitely with Firefox. I'll keep looking, but I have serious doubts that I will find what the problem is. The game itself plays as it should through Firefox, but when I start it with Steam, the Title does not show on the opening page. Strange. The game itself plays correctly though. I have heard good things about Chrome, but I have 2 of them already installed, so I probably won't install it. Now,
I got a perfect solution for this. Don't use the internet for 3 days (just to be sure) and I think you will avoid it.
Sorry, but this won't work. The worm will 'phone home' as soon as you restore your connectivity.
If we were to set the date in our computers back a month, to say March 1st, would we be able to avoid the attack (temporarily)?
It might, but why bother? Only 3-6% of computers in the US are estimated to be infected. I'm not sure about Canada, but I expect that the rate is similar. There is a very simple and fast way to know whether or not your computer is infected. Simply reboot into "safe mode". Conficker C prevents this, so if you can do it, you're fine.

Hi Nels. You seem to have a pretty good handle on the game vs reality thing, so I'll skip this. Here are the choices that I generally make when trying to make a 'realistic' game. "Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind-bogglinly big it is." (DA) Start with an immense galaxy. This doesn't even remotely approximate reality, but it is what we have to start with. There are a lot of stars. We know this. I set stars at 'abundant'. The afo

Hi Whismerhill et al: Does this apply to any (home) versions of XP, or is it only for pro/media? Reading through the pdf seems to imply any version, but I would like to be sure. IF this does apply to 'home', can someone walk me through the procedure? I have always been quite computer savvy, but for some reason this particular procedure sticks in my cranial craw. I don't know why, but it does. Thanks in advance.

These are the playmate years, and they are demonstrably fraudulent. The scene is reputed to be acrawl with adorably amoral bunnies to whom sex is a pleasant social favor. The new culture. And they are indeed present and available, in exhausting quantity, but there is a curious tastelessness about them. A woman who does not guard and treasure herself cannot be of very much value to anyone else. They become a pretty little convenience, like a guest towel. And the cute little things they say, an
I thought it is stadard by now
I don't think there is yet a "stadard" for this type of thing. Winzip was the first out of the gate, but there isn't yet a clear winner in the compression wars.
It is just better, more options, more compression.
I have to agree with you here. It is by any measurable standard superior to winzip.
I'm not a big fan of shareware so I'll pass.
Winrar is not shareware. Every tim

I've been thinking about changing my avatar, to one that would be more relevant across the various Stardock forums. I have noticed that the size has been increased. Does anyone know what the size (in pixels) is now, and are there any freeware progs that will let me modify the size of my chosen pic to fit?

Welcome to the forums, space599. Sole, Willy, and Divine are three of the most respected members here, and you can take anything that they post as gospel. There are a couple/few things that I might expound on. As soon as you are able, design and build your own ships. The core designs are lame. If you choose to leave the UP, you lose all trade. The combat viewer is just something to watch while the game is crunching the numbers. Don't worry that things d
it doesn't take long to make a faster, better survey/scout ship and speed is important when trying to grab as many of the initial anomalies as you can.
Yes, but in less time than it takes to research all that, you can work your way up the engine tech tree to give yourself a +2 to your speed, and you have your quick ship. Also, while you are busy researching, your flagship is snapping up anomalies.

Huzzah! Finally an official announcement. If you aren't excited now about this game, then you should be. The idea behind this game has been simmering in Frogboy's mind for years. There are bits and pieces that were coded for other projects that will just now be implemented. I believe that this will be Stardock's masterpiece.
