Some of the conservatives arguements do make me do a bit of an epic facepalm. Your healthcare system sucks. Sorry, but its true. Whether Obama's plan is the best one remains to be seen, but at least he's put the issue on the table to let a debate happen. It has shown though that a lot of Americans love to claim that they want their freedom. And what a lot of them actually mean is they want their money. Anyone actually notic

Banned for forgetting about Llanfairpwllgwnngyllgogerychwllllantysiliogogogoch. Honestly I did not look that up (so there's probably a mistake or two in it)

The tech descriptions are intentionally silly - loaded with Monty Python references etc. There are mods available if you don't like them.

Eve is a very experimental MMO, in that everyone is on the same server and no one player can have much power on their own. The only way to get anywhere is to join one of the alliances. After the biggest one called Band of Brothers was wiped out in an outrageous bit of corporate espionage (see http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/57098), the biggest one now is probably Goonfleet. The biggest have literally thousands of members. I'm not an MMO player, b

They both won Strategy game of the year awards... With GC2, I would strongly recommend getting the Ulitmate edition bundle (with both expansion packs) and then updating (free but needing the expansions) to version 2.0. Both expansions won IGNs expansion of the year award (DA beating Civ 4 Beyond the Sword, TA beating Warcraft Lich King) As for SoaSE, Entrenchment is currently in beta, so you can discount those bug reports. The vanilla

I have to say, the 'no you b*****d!' quality in GalCiv has to be one of the main factors of why its such a good game. I leave mega events on always. In the end, most games are always winnable once you find a particular strategy and you can keep on winning time after time. In the end, I like strategy games to require exactly that - strategy! And the best strategy is the one that can be altered if the circumstances change. I can name several games I just stopped pl

There's no need for a foray into RPGs from a company thats rapidly become the best in the world at TBS. DethAdder, Elemental will have a 64-bit edition as welll as a 32-bit version. Those early screenshots were just to give an idea of the style. Seeing as the first beta isn't for months and the game isn't out for over a year i think we can safely assume they will be light-years better by then. Give them a chance to make the game first before complainin
That was the guy that helped make that shit game called Spore?
Language... He was drafted in to improve parts of Spore. Its not that bad (DRM notwithstanding), its just that people were expecting it to be the best game ever, which it isn't. Soren is one of the great unsung heroes of computer games. 'Sid Meier's Civilization IV' would be better titled 'So

There will not be any more official GalCiv 2 expansions, but there's a fan-made mod/expansion which is roughly tabled to come out in a year or so (don't quote me on that). The AI in GCII is probably the best turn-based AI around, so if you go straight in on tough you are liable to get flattened if you haven't played it before. Check out the ship editor as well (that wasn't in GCI), it is essential to use it in order to counter your enemies' ships.

Now that is odd. There's no point in waiting for an hour, it usually loads in a matter of seconds. Is the game updated to latest build? Did this happen more than once?
They put time-travel in. Why, oh God, WHY?!
Oh come on there's umpteen ST plots with time travel in (think ST IV and First Contact for a start). I reckon that this will be a bit of a Batman Begins / Casino Royale sort of film - liked by a wider audience but hated by hardcore fans. Basically though they had a choice between something like this or ditching it. The demise of Enterprise shows that 'aut

In Britain we sort of have a three party system but one hasn't been elected for about a century. There's nothing saying that we have to have two or three parties or whatever but it seems to have settled into a two and a half party system

Endless universe is not another expansion pack, its the european release of the two expansion packs. There won't be another expansion pack sold, but provided you have your game registered and have impulse, you'll be able to get a free update in a few weeks with almost as many features as a full expansion
