@Kryo: Good to know there is some progress undergoing... it's better for everyone @Skyjack: here we go! it's complicated to compare living costs when you try to get the overview on every aspect: VAT, gas, taxes, insurance, salary, services... It could be that your buddy in London giving a lot of taxes might receive more money from the state/crown when he retires than you will... At the end, it balances out... anyway, we are all living in good conditions and should be happy

I think there should be a "clear user ships" and "clear all ships" option in the game's setup menu. I clear my ships before every game. It's kind of a pain, would be nice if the game could do that on the fly. Agree! Isn't this something planned for DA? I remember having read something about this somewhere on the site... adding an opt

A word to the wise. When you're young you feel invulnerable. When you're old you feel every indiscretion of your youth. You've been warned. Hey, question How did you react when people older than you were telling you this? <img src="http://images.stard

One of the strat general guides You might find some valuable information. It helped me a bit. Don't take everything as "the truth" but I personnally found it helpful. edit: it's outdated, it applied to 1.2 I think, not the current 1.31 version

Ok, yes this helps. So, an upgrade will carry over all points of the previous building's version. And building another type (e.g. market) on a factory will cary over only some of the points. I was always doing it the wrong way then! I decomission a building if I decide to put another type on a tile. By mistake, I discovered that it's possible to build another type without decomissioning. Thanks to both of you, my next game will be better <img src="http://images.

Thanks for the answer Mumblefratz. Getting credit back? Never noticed this, I will have to pay more attention. But... buildings don't cost any credit, only manufacturing social points, right? What do you mean with this? Do I get part of the maintenance back?

Greetings aliens Quick question, just popped to my mind while reading another post (hope this has not been answered yet). What is the difference - if there is one - between decomissioning a building then building a new one versus upgrading the building to another type of building? Example: I have a Research lab on a tile, I want to replace it with an Industry Research lab -

The beauty and difficulty with this game is the wide variety of potentially successful strategies. This leads to problems. You can't simply take a good idea from one place and another good idea from another and put them together. You need to look at your strategy as a whole and make sure it fits together. Also, not all advice given is good. Sometimes it's hard to tell the

Gas is now under $2/g here now ($1.999) at all the nearby stations. Yeah, I noticed a significant drop down... but I am still paying roughly 4.5€/gallon... this would be like a bit less than $6 US/g... But on the other end, to compare this is not fair in a way... cars here are using 2-3 gallons per 100 km, some even less. I guess

'Weber' is also one named after one guy from the Stardock crew. Check the credits in the game, there are a couple of other star system named after someone involved in the game.

I asked this because I have been struggling with a "STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER" loop errors for 1.5 years... But I had this happen on all 3D games. I have a nForce2 board, a nVidia 6600GT card and an AMD CPU. Since I have this board, I experienced this annoying issue. Even switching back to the nVidia 4200Ti, same issue. I was able to play games with my comp case open, so I supposed it was a heating issue... well, I thought I was able to, it just

edit: argh... there is a bug on the forum; if i let my replay window open for too long, then the answer gets posted in a wrong thread guess it has to do with some IDs numbers... anyway, sorry

Do like drawfour said. It's sometimes better to look at your desktop/laptop manufacturer's website. Or go on the Realtek website. Or a simple search on the internet will lead you to this: Realtek AC Audio driver (one time I will have to learn how to make links on this forum )<

Did mission 4 on my 2nd attempt (Normal difficulty lvl, I am not good enough to push it up ) Mistake I mind on my 1st attempt: took too much time to build me up, researching unuseful stuff instead of concentrating on logistic and weapons. I spent time growing my colonies and had very weak ships to defend... and also, tried to put some defense on my ships -> this is not useful at all as the DL st

Thanks, verified and solved. But I found another one The difficulty level "Obscene" is misspelled: it reads "Obscne" on the forum. (I thought I would not create another topic for this)

I don't have the manual in front of me... aren't they described in it? Did it change with 1.2? I am rarely (if ever) using my keyboard with GC2. People, help this guy (or gal)!

If Social, Research and military is at 0, this does not make you loose money. Should even make you earn some. Unless your maintenance cost are high. If your money goes into negative, then Soc, Res and Mil is set to 0 until you are positive again. This might be your problem. If not, do like sam0t said.

When writing your post/reply, click on the Options tab and see what is currently checked. For you, it looks like "Pure HTML code" was checked. In this case, you have to add the code for a line break where you would like to add some lines between paragraphs. PS: cannot type the code as it does a line break instead... check the Options tab, you should understand ;)
