When I played as a custom race with the Thalan technology tree in the latest beta, I was able to research the "Industrial Revolution" technology, which allowed me to build regular factories. The Thalans are not supposed to be able to access regular factories in their technology tree. I'm sure many players wou

This may be the "Ascension Crystal Overload" bug mentioned on another thread. [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=421&aid=302161"]WWW Link[/link] Only five Ascension Crystals are supposed to appear in any game. With the "Ascension Crystal Overload" bug, numerous "fake" Ascension Crystals appear all over the map. If you build a starbase over one of the fake Ascension Crystals, then reload the game, all of the fake Ascension Crystals will disappear, leaving a starbase with no resource in th

I think I have also encountered this bug. Numerous Ascension Crystals were all over the map. Furthermore, when I built starbases on the Ascension Crystals, the Ascension victory number count remained at zero.(In other words, having starbases on the Crystals did not do anything.) On the foreign relations screen, the other races did not show any "You are trying to ascend" negative signs. In two previous games that I played, the ascension crystals were working like they should. There were

Is there any chance that the new beta will be released before next Thursday?

Some of the ships in the latest Twilight of the Arnor beta are frequently invisible. This seems to randomly occur for standard constructors and space miners. Both player and computer ships can be affected. I believe this problem originated in the current version of the game. (Beta 4C?) (It is still possible to locate invisible ships by zooming out to the tactical view.)

If you chose the population growth + 40%, economy +30% and morale +10% racial bonuses and either the Federalist party (economy + 20%) or the Universalist party (+ 10%, luck + 25%, defense + 10% and economy + 5%), the Drath Legion’s economy problems become more manageable. Keep your approval rating high. Do not rush buy anything. Fill your home planet with factories and labs. On your first two colonies build a starport, two factories, and maybe a lab or two to speed up research. Quickly build the

When I start to run low on money after the colony rush, I build nothing but economic buildings on my homeworld. I also put the economic capitol on my homeworld after researching the Trade technology. The amount of income you receive from a planet is determined partly by the population of that planet. In the early phase, your homeworld is the only planet with a high population. I also make one of my initial colonies into an economic planet. This does not have much of an immediate effect, however.

While I was playing as the Krynn Consulate in the latest TA beta, I suddenly became unable to build any buildings. Whenever I clicked on a planetary tile, the building list did not appear. I do not know what caused the error. I have submitted an error report to Stardock, including a saved game, debug file, and a screenshot which demonstrates the error. EDIT: I discovered I had merely pressed the "Old" buildings tab when I had no obsolete buildings... :SNIFF!: I'm so sorry... If this

You can also view the technology descriptions in the diplomacy screen by right clicking on the technologies. It would be essentially impossible for even the most experienced player to remember exactly what all of the technologies for all of the races do. ;)

The Yor Collective's economy problems can cripple their superior production abilities. When choosing racial bonuses, pick the Economy + 30%, Morale + 15%, Population Growth + 25%, and the Federalist party (Economy + 20%). Build the recruitment center on all of your planets as you colonize them. Build at least one charging stalk and the research matrix on each planet. Focus your research efforts on the efficiency, population growth, and charging stalk technology branches. When you get the efficie

In the early-mid game portion of my last large galaxy TA game, The Terrans were building multipule ships with a beam attack of 2 and a shield strength of 27. Because defenses are cheaper to build and research than weapons, the Terrans' military rating skyrocketed. When they declared war on me, my "weak" missile using ships easily defeated their heavily shielded ships. This nearly-all defense approach can easily be countered with the appropriate weapons. Oddly, none of the other races adopted the

The warp bubbles are not supposed to be available to all races. Warp bubbles are a unique Terran Alliance racial technology.

If a race has a technological disadvantage in a certain area, try to trade with the other races for the technologies you need. Diplomacy is more important in Twilight of the Arnor than it ever was before.

When I attempted to post my finished Twilight of the Arnor tournament game on the Metaverse, I got an error message saying that my "Application serial number" does not match the one on the Metaverse server. I compared the TA serial number on my confirmation email (the number I was using) to my TA serial number on the Accounts section of the Metaverse website and found they were very different. I copied the number on the Metaverse website, opened Stardock Central, went to the games section, right

In the Twilight of the Arnor beta 2, I cannot submit my completed tournament game. When I try to submit it, a message pops up telling me that the serial number of my application does not match the serial number on the metaverse. I compared the serial number in my confirmation email and the one on the metaverse, and found that they were very different. I could not find a way to change the one on the metaverse (I pressed the register button on the bottom of the page, but it only had an option for

Although I agree that trade income should be increased (perhaps by 25-50%), trade income is a mid to late game benefit. You have to research 4 technologies, build the freighter (when you should probably be building other things), and get the freighter to the other civ's world. Additionally, trade routes aren't worth very much when you first establish them. Stardock has clearly stated that the tourism change is intended to help with the economic crash caused by the colonization phaze (which happe

The Torians seem to have few unique technologies compared to the other races. There are a few technologies that provide some passive bonuses. However, there is only one branch that provides unique "units" (improved morale buildings).

At the time that I made this post, there has been ONE update for Twilight of the Arnor. However, there appears to be a discrepancy between the version information displayed on the game start screen and the version information displayed on Stardock Central. Stardock Central (the place where you get the updates) will tell you if you have version A or B, but the game start screen apparently always says you have version A. I do not know exactly what these two areas displayed before and after the upd

Additionally, the advanced and ultimate warp bubbles are available from the start to ALL races, even though the warp bubble technology path can only be researched by the Terran alliance. The warp bubbles are probably available due to a bug or a design accident.
