Whenever I attempt to upgrade one particular ship, the game crashes and returns to windows. I have upgraded dozens of ships in this game, including ones that are of the same class as the problem ship. I cannot upgrade that particular ship by any method. I have a saved game in which the error can easily be reproduced. However, I don't know how to submit saved games to Stardock. You need to share research and economic treaties with the Yor (before they sell theirs to anyone else.) Your military score must be significantly higher than theirs. When or before they are attacked, give (or sell) some of your ships to them. It is best to build and give ships that use a different weapon than the Yor usually use, so they can have a diverse military. I encountered the same error. However, I DID successfully bypass the error after multiple attempts. I don't know if this would work for anyone else, however.

I think I am running into the same error. When I press the turn button, it permanently disappears. It is similar to what it does when the computer is thinking, but the turn button stays gone. I can access all of the menues, and I can launch ships from planets, but if I attempt to move a ship, I get the message the game gives when a ship is out of life support range. The high research cost of missile technologies is very significant. I usually use beam weapons because I can devote more research to other technologies. Alternatively, I could choose to progress quickly along the beam weapon research path, allowing me to destroy my most powerful opponents before they can obtain the superior missile weapons. If most of the civilizations start using shields, however, I switch to missiles.

Every time I try to log into the Metaverse, I get the "The Metaverse server returned an unrecognized response. Please try connecting again later." error. The error just recently started. I am reporting this problem in case anything needs to be fixed.

While I was purchasing the Digital Download & CD package shipped version of Galactic Civilizations II Dark Avatar, I put in my shipping and credit card information, and pressed the "Confirm Order" button. After this, the website went immediately to the home page of the Stardock Store without any confirmation page or information about downloading the game. What should I do about this problem?
