Sometimes I even think if its worthy to colonize Mars, that is such a shitty planet. You don't colonize Mars? It is generally the first thing i do. Fill it with research techs, and save Earth for Eco/Manu buildings. Works well for me anyway....

The amount of VR building's one needs to accomodate a high pop of say 19b or more is counter productive. You will make more money with 1 farm (stage 3) and 1 vr centre. Your pop will be about 13b for a non-capital planet, with about a 75-80% morale rate depending on tax level. For example, a doom ray (22 points) and a laser (6 points) hits my frigate with 10 points of shield defense. The doom ray would do only half damage (11 points) but would knock out the shield for that round and doing 1 hp to the hull, allowing the laser to do the full 6 points to the hull hp's. I like this.
