there is a known bug where some AI's are set to a very low intelligence level during the galaxy startup. to get around this, just set the intelligence levels individually. however, if *ALL* the AI's are not doing anything then that might be another issue
Lord Mark
Early in the game--research level 30rp/turn. Harvest the research resource adds 5% to your research--so you are now up to a whopping 31rp/turn (rounding down). So no, initially you won't see much of an effect. But later in the game--base research level 200rp/turn. Research resource built up to 25%, now you are up to 250rp/turn. Now you are getting somewhere
increases your research rate by a certain %. (in other words you get to research stuff faster) add more modules to get better effects. usually you wont see dramatic changes until you're up to 25%
i hardly use them now since they take so much micromanagment and it just slows the game down abit to much to me. same here, i just go for power fleets i just use starbases only if i need to or if its a resource starbase
depends on the galaxy size. on medium i usually play for 7 years (im one of those set up the economy before going to war players). as for the tech tree, it depends on what my goals are. normally i would get as far as disruptors, but there was this one time when i was going for a tech victory and i was able to research doom ray at that point i decided to wipe out all the remaining civs ^_^
I find it difficult for you to justify that the game is too easy when you're playing five difficulty levels below max. That might be your problem i couldnt agree more
all hail darth kyro! good job dude!
thats freakin crazy! grats dude!
what galaxy are you guys playing? just curious coz in my games it is ALWAYS the drengin and Yor who are the real threats. everyone else is fodder for these two races so i keep a really close eye on both if i get a bad start i usually end up dying myself
Lastly, how about a poll on this question? I couldnt agree more oh and keep the forums
or you can always give them that tech
(why only ~8% voted for multiplayer is beyond me...what fun is a strategy game like this when you have to play alone?) because the AI really knows how to play the game and no, no MOD can do this. modding only changes the look and feel of the game, multiplayer however requires actual code since its not as trivial
Also what tech is needed to build a 'Galatic thingy', always wanted one of those! LMAO
the spice wonder gives a 20% bonus to all planets. im not sure why it didnt show the increase in the planet itself. try hitting turn and then check again
Oh yea 1 further point the AI's r not building any trade goods, galactic wonders etc... in my current game either... yeah i noticed ever since 1.2 beta
that transmission would turn off any aliean race for sure
Racial balance is not intended or planned by the devs agreed, besides nothing really is fair, even in RL so we cant really expect the same thing in simulations makes the game more interesting imo
I've found similar results. The income appears to be proportional to the cube root of the combined population. omg do you people actually compute this stuff?
dangling pointers imo
Oh hell yes. Did you not see? asteroid belts. ASTEROIDS! and yes i will buy
This forum is riddled with angry little ****s *looks at Prolet* hahaha sorry i just think its crazy that someone would be so angry about a game. lack of life maybe? and always blame it on the devs... lack of oversight? do you know how much work goes into creating a game? and all people do is whine whine whine... tsk tsk. try creating your own AI and see how easy it is too micromanage stuff typical immature ppl... all talk and no insight <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smi
currently there's no option in the diplo screen BUT you can always kick their butts more and hope they dont surrender to the orther civs
oh and if you guys wanna see proof ill be more than happy to email you the code
What I REALLY need is a good lightweight XML parser. why dont you guys write your own lightweight XML parser? since XML very well structured writing a parser for it would be relatively easy. i have experince in this coz i just recently wrote an xml parser using java like 2 weeks ago <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Congrats.g
there's a checkbox called "do not remove components when upgrading ships" (or something like that) in the options menu. if you check that you get to keep what ever you have in the current shp. you can then change what you want to change without redoing the entire ship. this option works in the shipyard only though
