I reccomend digging up a copy of Ascendancy. It's an old game, but it matches up to GalCiv surprisingly well, and is a bit more intuitive to learn. Do a little web digging, you'll find it.

Such a poll would be useless unless it described implementation. Since there's never been so much as a hint from the devs that carriers are going to happen, I doubt they'll spend too much time working on it.
I was about to flame the nooble who suggested canning one of my daily reads. Then I looked again.....
Booo hissss
My explanation for tactical battles leading the polls is that it was given in the context of an expansion pack. If Stardock focused on a tactical AI as an addition in an expansion pack it could be done so that it's not a pretty mish-mash of cheesy exploits. This would not be the case if it was included as patch content, which is what a lot of the vocal opposition was arguing against. I voted for more detailed ship design, because I want to make ship construction more meaningful and less rock,
You'd think it was the opposite, as from Stardock there's no shipping or printing cost AND there's no retailer or publisher getting a cut.
You must bump posts to get them to show in recent posts. The search function only searched titles, and neither' how to delete ships' nor 'delete ships' produces any results. Stop your mini-modding.
You will be sad.
At least in 1.1 it didn't. I remember a screenie someone posted where the AI had researched the path anyway (DURRR), and that player won by getting tech victory as the random espionage tech grab
The update fee idea really goes against the spirt of what they're trying to sell with this game. I'd never buy another Stardock game if they implemented a 'pay for patch' system. Just like i won't buy anymore of the Massive Assault series since they refuse to include a lan option on their games and charge for their internet service. Cheesy nickel and dime tactics turn off customers.
The search function on this forum is not very good But even though it is not very good It would be very good if you used it http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting.php
Have you tried google image search?
How about because the tech and previous visting was all done via stargate?
Put it in the expansion. $9 for ship jewelery is too much. If it was a general graphical upgrade, then sure. But there's plenty of jewelry already there, and it's moddable anyway.
I fear you may be disspointed. The only quote I was able to find on the topic was "watch the battles play out in glorious real time 3d". It sounds like what GalCiv2 was advertising. Of course if it turns out otherwise I may have to add it to my wishlist. After Suporeme Commander and a system to run it, of course.
Space Empires V, to the best of my knowlege, will not implemt a RTS minigame. I doubt GalCiv will either, since turn based tactical combat is not on the table.
That's the thing though. If they have it and you don't, you still can't talk to them.
I like diplomatic victories because they cut out the mopping up section of the game. Generally by the time I've taken out the most threating enemies, I've completely outclassed the other friendlty civs. By that point having to go and smash them one by one is not challenging, but merely time consuming.
That was favorite stage of gameplay in MOO2, when I didn't care about expanding my empire anymore and just took my Doom Stars on rampages turning solar systems into asteroid dust.
And answer is still the same. Why make graphic reqs for a TBS higher than action games?
I suppose I don't really understand the issue. If I was going to legitimately sell the game, I'd clear out my account info & characters and stuff, and send the logon along with the CD/serial. What stops someone from doing that?
It seems like you're having an issue wrapping your head around the turn based nature of the game. For now, that's what I'll tell you about. The turn button is used when you've finished moving your ships, setting what to build in your plants and starports, setting your research goals, and setting your funding levels. Until you click it, nothing happens. That is, your ships don't refresh their movement, no research is actually completed, nothing is acutally built, etc. When you hit
You're 20% evil. That probably deserved a status change.
I'm using the newest version. If they actually are point sprites, I'm going to try turing point sprites off and explosions on, just to expiriment. And my question wasn't really 'why have good graphics' it was 'why have explosion graphics in a TBS with higher system Reqs than action and RTS games'
