Well, generally I try to grab the best worlds I can early on. Grabbing the best planet in the system and moving on to the next. And if the planets in a system are crappy (like below an 8) I skip it entirely, unless its so isolated I can't grab it culturally later. Then, when the other races start moving in on the empty worlds in my territory I switch gears and grab up those I left behind earlier. After that I focus on the infrastructure. I know that If I have a decent soldiering

1. Don't just make peace, make them regret going to war, then offer peace. 2. Mini-Soldiers are the way to go. 3. Yeah, thats a pain.
What kinda ships were they? If they are scouts or flagships, then they are probably sitting their because they have nothing to explore or survey. They (the AI) do that every time.
Starcraft would be kinda cool. Not enough races for a TC though. How about StarFox? I had alot of fun playing StarFox 64, there were alot of different ships on that. Hmm..... How about a Mod were all the races are turned into the Minor races? Like a battle of the little people. Or a Mod where each race got its own style.
Thats happened to me before too. Except my computer had it's OS reinstalled due to some corruption problems, or some such nonsense, so no .err file. I've also had a planets population turn into a positive number of similar size, but, unlike the money thing, that fixed itself.
To the contrary, I had a HUGE fleet of ships. I'm talkin' dozens of ships. And they were all pretty decent ships, when compared to the others I had faced. I attacked the Drengin, who had four worlds, and even though they had no armor/sheild/pd, they wiped the floor with my fleets. Barely conquered them. I admit I had some Star Furys and Defenders in their, but only a few. Because they could put three or four ships with between 4 and 7 attack together I couldn't pound them one by one like u
Atleast you can see the movies..... Mine skip, like a scratched record. And ANY voice recording skips alot, like in the tutorials.
I'm pretty sure the default ships are only available for the races with the Terran style anyway. That or my Custom Race (used Torian design) didn't get to use any beyond the defender and star fury because it was a Custom Race.
I've run into a similarly bizzare error. I conquered a Korx world, and instead of the population being reduced to 350 million, it went to something like 13943849183 Trillion. The ip jumped to 500 and my influence spread across the whole galaxy. Planets half-way across the galaxy were ready to flip, three weeks later, everything fixed itself. I probably would have gotten an influence victory if I wasn't at war with the Korx.
Its at Normal. I used to do it at Beginner, but once I got the hang of things I turned it up to normal. Obviously I need to turn it up alittle. But it doesn't explain the mysterious appearance of the Precurser ship months after the event occured. I find it hard to believe I just couldn't see it. I have all of their worlds under surveilence, I have several Influence Starbases around the meager worlds they still have, PLUS Advanced Espionage. Try and explain that one.
Lets get this thing on the Recent Posts list!!
Okay, so I've played a few games, and noticed a few things. First, I'd like to mention that I too have noticed all the comp players researching the same weapon techs. In my current game the Torians are at war with the Drengin and the Arceans (or was it the Terrans? it doesn't matter). However, not once have I seen either attempt to invade a Torian world. I HAVE seen however several Torian transports make their way to Arcean space, but they stopped and are floating in one of my syst
NLC ?? Neutral Research Base?? What are these strange things you speak of?
I played the missions at cakewalk level and didn't even see this, so I don't think the difficulty issue.
They only time I ran into excessive use of embassys was on a minor race world that had been under the shadow of my empire for years. I didn't bother to invade it because of a large population and high approval, so Info warfare tactics would have been useless, and I didn't want to damage the lvl 15 planet. Eventually it ran out of food and the approval dropped to under 50%, so when I invaded I found atleast 6 embassys, maybe seven. Besides that I find no more than two or three on fri
My problem isn't to many people, its to many worlds. Its difficult to manage so many planets and remember what planets need what help and so forth. It would be great if you could just annihilate/abandon a planet.
That would totally own!
Yet another suggestion for 1.2 perhaps? I ignore planets that are below 7, since at that point they are still usefull for building smaller ships, like fighters, and exerting your influence across the galaxy. When the ai comes in to take the crappy worlds I just build an embassy on the world I have in the system and wait for it to rebel. Its especially working against the Torians in the m
As to suggestions for 1.2, I think it would make sense that if you have an Advanced Espionage (which means that you know more about this civ than its highest ranking memebers) that you should have a noticeable bonus in influence on that race. You HAVE bribed high-ranked officials, shouldn't that give you some say? Another thing, I think that you should gain the ships and starbases of a civ when you conquer it. Lastly, If conquering a capital world doesn't give you the civ immediatel
I'm hoping for this aswell. I'd like to know how the Computer implements The Endoran Coalition (my custom race).
As to the AI difficulties, they could always talk to Blizzard. They used Waygates in WC III and the AI used those to its considerable advantage. Of course those were permanent and only existed if preplaced during map construction.
I want He'taks myself. Especially Anubis and Apophis' flagships. The prommie would be pretty awesome aswell. P.S. Its not just you. Thats why at Gateworld they are reffered to as toilet-class ships.
I had a different problem with my saves. I'm not sure, but it may be that I had to many save files. I had tried to save a file, and it said "File Saved" or "Save Successfull" or whatever it says. But when I went to load it up the next day it wasn't there!!!!!!!!
Hmmm...... It actually sounds like a sound strategy to me. The number of ships is disquised. So if you think he has one ship, and you attack with a pair of fighters, you will be received with the unpleasent suprise of six ships. Ofcourse this only works against humans who don't pay very much attention, and when the ships actually move.
Hellz yes!! It would be awesome to be the gould, tauri, asgard, wraith, ori, tolan, or aschen!!
