It is compatible, just find the save files and ship files and transfer them to the respectable folders in the retail version. Simple.

Yes, well thats why I have bought GalCiv 2 (should be here by Saturday/Monday) because I can see that they ARENT like the Civ4 dev team *ie. no updates since January* and update every day or so. Also, because of the hard effort all of you guys put into this, I would just like to say you have definately got another sale from me later in the year!! Cheers for making such quality games!!
