Demo uninstall deleted full game

I had the demo before I got the full game, though have been enjoying the full version for about a week now. Tonight i decided to uninstall the demo and did so through add/remove programs, was very careful to select "Galactic Civizations 2 Demo" and not the full version, and at the end of uninstall saw both of them disappear.

The full game is actually gone, so have to reinstall. No big deal, but pretty wierd.

Has anyone had that happen?

AFAIK bumping does not work with these boards, then again not much else works with them either


You probably realise now that it is good practice to remove a demo of a game / application before you install the full one - at least that is what I do. Still if they did have seperate entries in the 'add remove' list then they should have not been removed together....!!!

This happens with quite a few games. Always a good idea to make the uninstallers life as simple as possible, since it's such a creaky structure to begin with.

Just install the full game over the demo. You may have 2 entries in the Add/Remove menu, but they seem to be the same files once installed.
